So let’s begin. This was done on a 2013 Q7 TDI
Pull up VCDS
Go to “Select Control Module”

Select “09-Cent.Elect.”

Select “Security Access–16”

In the blank space you want to type in “12151“ and select “Do It!” this number shows up in the bubble as shown and also can be found if you go to ross tech wiki under security access. --link-->wiki ross-tech
To my understanding this is giving permission for VCDS to get access for you do some changes. By typing this nothing is being changed. All it does is open the door for you to go in and change stuff around. If you don’t do this process in security access first the next steps won’t work

Now to go “Adaptations-10”

In the drop down menu go select “Front Fog Lights”

This is what shows up now. In the box that says New Value. You will inter the number “1 “. In the bubble as shown below says [0 = front fog lights installed] and [1 = front fog lights NOT installed (fault code suppressed)] by default it should have the value of “0” since there are fog lights installed and because of the LED I’m using it generates a fault code. As the bubble says if you put the value of “1” it suppresses the fault code. As I mention before, it still will send current to the fog lights

Click “test”

And finally click “Yes”. All done!

Now clear the fault codes by going to “Fault Codes-2”
I turned the car off from aux mode and started it up again and I didn’t get the loud beepy sounds it gave me when I did have the error bulb on the dash. Have had no problems since
