What Power steering fluid do I have? Color is not green it is yellow to clear. B7

Power steering fluid color and type in question. Cap reads use mineral oil.

Background: I found a clear to Yellow fluid spot on the garage floor. Initially thought this was brake fluid. Turns out my power steering fluid is low. When I checked it The color matches and is a light yellow almost clear.

My Audi dealer tells me the correct fluid for my 2006 A4 is P/N G004 000 M2. They tell me it is a synthetic and green in color. When I questioned them they stated it is the only fluid they carry and it has been in use a very long time, and it is the correct product.

I did some internet searching and have found other B6/7 owners questioning a clear to yellow fluid color. When I search on line I have found the following products:

    VW/Audi P/N G 004 000 1L LDSP
    VW/Audi P/N G 004 000 M2
    Pentosin CHF11S
    Pentosin CHF202

I realize some of these are likely supersessions. I have read they are all green in color.

The issue I am questioning is two fold.

    1. Are these compatible with the mineral based fluid the reservoir is calling for?
    2. My fluid is yellow to clear, (like some other posts from owners I saw). Was the original 2006 fluid this color? My dealer saids NO.

If I could get some help with this I would greatly appreciate it. I do not want to "mix" the wrong stuff. I am also willing to fully flush out the system.

    Please respond back.

    Thank you

Should be CHF11S or CHF202 green. Pentosin is perfect - no need Audi brand. Flush old fluid out with new green.

202 supersedes 11s so just pick the cheaper option.

There's a Febi/Bilstein hydraulic fluid too for pretty cheap from some parts stores S6161 might be the part number.

I just bought a Febi one for the next flush / banjo bolt gasket leak fix job.

It confused me when i did my PS fluid. Mineral Oil only but then Audi tell you to use synthetic.

Never did get an answer - apparently Audi haven't been using mineral PS fluid since way before our cars so who knows.

I just used Pentosin CHF202 and did a flush. Just don't get any in your eyes and mouth like i did or you'll need a trip to a+e.
