At least 2 weeks is what I try for depending on how much driving you do. You might see .25" after the 1st drive a little more in 2 weeks.

Even when you jack the car up or put it on a lift for a few hours it takes a while to re-settle. Two weeks is fair enough to see when it's more or less fully settled. It should then stay about the same for at least a few years and a good 50k+ miles.

When I take my car off the lift or off the jack it takes a good 50 miles to re-settle to it's "settled" position, and that's after having the coils for over a year and about 15k on them.

Assuming they were installed correctly a few weeks. When mine were installed the installer left the spring perch on which caused my car to sit about an inch higher.
The black plastic piece inside the red circle has to be removed.

Not removing the lower spring seat is the most common issue with the KW HAS kit sitting too high at the front. The installation instructions are pretty clear so I'm not sure what these shops are thinking of when they do the install, if they are thinking at all!

It's actually steel, they need to remove the HAS springs and tap upwards with a hammer on the spring seat to remove them, they are just a friction fit. The HAS threaded collar then slides down to the current spring seat location.

Is my black piece the steel piece?

I am having spring kit redone properly in a week.

Does having that metal piece in affect the car handling in the interim? Does car feel better when it is removed?

    Thanks

Difficult to say, you're currently sat an inch too high with incorrectly pre-loaded springs so it may feel different once it's all fitted correctly and the wheels are aligned.

OK I got the springs reinstalled. For anyone with this issue and/or you feel your car is floaty, check the install. Ride is so much better after fixing it and looks so much better too!

Now I just need my ecodes to arrive :)

Glad to hear you had the KW installed correctly. I’ve been there and done that. Thanks to Jon3 and JamesRS5 quickly pointing out the issue for me back in March.
