Navigation map update

Hey does anyone here have any idea how i can update my map? Mine hasn't been updated since i got the car in 2013. If anyone can post step by step instructions or even send me a link it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'll PM you. A guy named Phillip helped me update my 2011 a couple years ago. It made a big difference.

I updated our B8.5 A4 to the 2017/18 maps (NAR 6.16.2) last fall using media from an eBay seller in the UK (search 8R0060884EN).
This also updates the MMI 3G+ software to version HN+_US_AU3G_K0942_6.
Access to VCDS cable/software is helpful, but not required.

The current NAR version 2018/19 6.18.2 (media part number 8R0060884FD).
I haven't seen this being offered by third-parties yet (in this US, the undiscounted price is $265).

We use the maps/nav in our 2014 A4 with our Audi Connect account (for on-line destinations) a lot (even locally!), and the map update was worth the effort, IMHO. Under 30 minutes to update the MMI sortware, about another hour or so to update the map database(s). Not all that difficult, really.

We have a 2011 and would like to update the maps for my wife. Will that 6.16.2 update work with 2011 models?

2010-2012 is MMI 3G (vs MMI 3G+ for 2013-2016). They seem to use the same map/poi database update part number, thus 8R0 051 884 EN for "NAR 6.16.2". Whether that part number includes the firmware update for both MMI 3G and MMI 3G+, no idea. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multi_Media_Interface

The same Wiki page lists the current MMI firmware update for US MMI 3G as
8R0906961CP MMI 3G Hnav (High) US K_0133 (A4, A5, Q5, A6, Q7) SVM:3GHUS133
and for MMI 3G+ as
8R0906961ET MMI 3GP Hnav (High) US K_0942 (A4/A5/Q5/Q7)

Guess for all it's deficiencies vs 3G, one benefit of my MMI 2G is the simplicity of updating. Download iso, burn, insert, done. There's no excuse for the absurd hoops to update MMI 3G/3G+. For my mom's car, we updated it by telling her to use her phone.
