    2018 Audi S4 - Key Tag

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just purchased a used 2018 Audi S4, I am trying to get my phone to be able to use the Wi-Fi, apparently I need a code that came with the car originally which is no longer with the car. When I asked my salesman about he told me that most times when they get a used car that the code is gone. So the only way to be able to use the Wi-Fi with my phone is to pay for a new code, $114. I think that is ridiculous to spend good money on a vehicle and the dealership not provide this code. Highly disappointed.

Thanks for checking in on your new to you S4. So in order to use the Wi-fi you actually do not need the 10 digit key code that comes with the vehicle from factory. That 10 digit key code is used to set yourself as the key user of the vehicle which allows certain functionality with the app. You may however need a new SIM card and a new subscription which you can review by either calling Audi Connect at +1 877 505 2834 and reviewing the details of your account here: https://myaudiconnect.com/. A MMI reset may also be helpful to be able to reset the signal. If you are interested in obtaining the 10 digit key code please be advised that these are included with new vehicle purchase from an Audi dealer. If your vehicle was purchased outside of the Audi network or purchased used we have no way to guarantee a new key code for you. Please feel free to let me know if you have questions, I am always available via PM as well.

My problem is that I do not have the password for the car. How do I obtain a password?

Are you referring to the Wi-Fi password or setting yourself as the key user such as Step 3 indicates here? https://imgur.com/x7BiXXl

Thank you for clarifying! If you are in the vehicle with it turned on in a safe location, select the Main Menu button > Telephone > Right Control Button > Wi-Fi Settings. You should at this point be able to see if the Wi-Fi is turned on or off as the default, and make whichever adjustments to the settings to get the connection up and running. If you run into any further troubles, please feel free to send me a PM with your additional contact information so that I can look further into the situation.

    Thank you!

You should be able to scroll down further and locate your Wi-Fi password at that particular screen. This video may be helpful for you as the instructions are the same: https://s7d9.scene7.com/e2/Audiusast..._M2022-061.mp4

Thank you I will try that. What is the advantage of the Key User portion of this?

Key user is a little bit different as it unlocks a lot of the features that are available on the myAudi app using your smartphone (lock/unlock, vehicle status reports, geofence alerts, etc.). If that is something that you're interested in, you will need the key code available from the dealer.

Thanks I will able to find the password and connect, now I just have to figure out if I want to pay for an access code. I think it is kind of ridiculous that the dealership does not provide this information.
