4.2 S5 automatic remove idle 4K rev limiter

Is there any tune that does this? Called JHM and there tune doesn’t.

Any tuner in SoCal who could do this?

The 6 speed tiptronic S5s have a rev limiter till 4K when the car is stationary or in neutral. The manuals can rev freely when idle with traction off.

I'm actually curious as well. For some reason, my 6MT doesn't always free rev even with traction control fully off. (like when you hold it down until both modes are off)

That would make a bit more sense. Traction off and clutch pedal fully pressed in?

    Which tune do you have?
Not sure if APR does this and people said their tune is meh compared to JHM.

I called JHM and they said their tune doesn’t get rid of the factory rev limiter.

Ok I gotta ask... why do you need to rev an auto past 4k in neutral.

I have the JHM tune and I can rev pass 4K in park. I never paid attention to the rev limit before the tune.

    Sweet thanks!!!
Strange how how someone at JHM told me that their tune doesn’t get rid of it.

    Almost all tunes do.

Furthermore, just shifting to Neutral will do it.

I’ve tired that and it doesn’t work. Won’t rev past 4K in neutral or park.

Will be calling a local shop for a jhm tune soon.

I had a REVO tune on my 4.2 S5 that removes that limiter. This was before I knew of JHM.

Having said that, 100% go with the JHM tune for the power increase.
