    DSG issues after mechatronic replaced

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
2011 S4 with 67K miles, mech replaced 5 months ago (10K miles) due to hiccups during shifting. Was shifting good until the last couple months. Transmission shop says it's normal. Shift pressures are normal and equal (per mechanic).

Here's my issues that I had before mech replacement and now coming back:

-developing longer engagement when at a stop and going from brake to gas. Yes I know the DSG acts that way. But right after mech, there was hardly any delay. I actually noticed I had to keep my foot harder on the break to keep it at a dead stop. Now it's about a 3 second delay before you can feel it engage.

-when coming to rolling stop (in second gear) and give it gas, it acts like when you let the clutch out too quick, like a little hop before it goes. Or it will act like your letting the clutch out too slow and then when it shifts into 3rd, it acts perfect.

-issues seem to be most noticeable in 2nd gear, once in a while in 4th. If I really take my time and ease into the gas from any rolling stop, it acts much better. But as I mentioned, it seems to be progressively getting worse. I have to baby the thing when leaving stop lights and stop signs if I don't come to a complete stop.

It's odd that it was awesome at first, now not so awesome.

I do have APR ECU stage 1 tune that I put back on right after mech replacement. Before replacement, I had shop remove APR ECU and TCU tune to make sure that wasn't the problem. I am still waiting for APR to build a TCU tune for my new software.

I'm starting to wonder if it's clutches now. I did have old fluid tested and no sign of clutch material and mechanic said fluid looked really good for 38K miles.

sounds to me like a tune related Could be one of the seals is bad or solenoids but you should see this in log. Did you ever log your TCU ?

honestly, go to a dealer and spend the 200 for them to check it. dealerships are familiar with the issue and will tell you what is needed

Are you serious about dealership right now ? I would recommend find local Audi enthusiast person that would help do logs at list you can check oil pressure everywhere and do all transmission calibration.

Did you do transmission calibration after replacement the board ?

Yes OEM fluid, filter and mech from Audi dealership.

APR tunes were removed prior to mech replacement and didn't make a difference.

APR ECU tune was put back on in May of this year, about a month after getting mech replaced. Was working good for a while. I would say getting worse over the last 2 months. The transmission shop had a company come out to do the programming of the new mech ($250)

I have a VAGCOM but it's older version and can't do driving log that is compressed (or whatever term it's called).

You have to try perform adaptation on all groups

Last night I tried clutch valve calibration and distance sensor calibration.
    No change

Anyone think that maybe my APR tune is causing issues. Maybe something with timing/switch from when I go from the brake pedal to gas.
I've really noticed lately that I have to let the let the transmission engage when I from a stop or letting off gas and then giving gas again.

Right after I got mech replaced and without APR ECU tune, I did not have this issue. The issue is becoming more noticeable as time goes on (months).

I have tried that and no change.

I wonder if there is a difference when disabling the tune and having the TCU reflashed to factory vs doing an adaptation.

Like I said, after new mech with factory programming, it was acting good. Put APR ECU tune back in and now has gradually getting worse with engagement. No codes thrown.
