Neither.
petrol-only longitudinal EA888 Gen2 2.0T with AVL:
NAR ULEV II emissions - CAEx
Euro 5 emissions - CDNx
longitudinal EA888 Gen3 2.0T with AVL:
Euro 5 emissions - CNCx
132kW / 177bhp - CAEA / CDNB - Not sure if AoA ever used CAEA in anything
155kW / 208bhp - CAEB / CDNC - US used CAEB in all B8.0 A4, and then CAEB in '13 manuals/CVT
162kW / 217bhp - CAED / CNCD (165kW) - US used CAED in '14-'16 manuals/CVT
flex-fuel (E85) longitudinal EA888 Gen2 2.0T with AVL:
NAR ULEV II emissions - CPMx
(doesn't seem E85 is a non-NAR thing)
155kW / 208bhp - CPMA (US 2013 with ZF automatics)
162kW / 217bhp - CPMB (US 2014-16 with ZF automatics)
US 2013 AR used CPMA motor.
US didn't get the Gen3 motor in any B8 products; not till B9, though US VW products where already using it as early as 2014 (? - my buddy's Passat has it, but forget what year his is)
Edit - Ok, figured out why finding Gen2 CNCx info was so hard; CNCx is the EA888 Gen3 Euro5 engine. So it's not a Gen2 at all.
CNCB - 132kW Euro 5
CNCD - 165kW Euro 5
They are E25 compatible starting from 2012 week 40.
(edit again, seems the CNCx was Euro 5, only the transverse 2.0T CJXx was Euro 6; at least at the time of SSP 606)
