    Q5 Sunshade replacement

    Hello out there!
I want to replace my 2012 Q5 sunshade. It was ripped and hanging down. I will clean and lube the tracks before I run the new screen. I ordered the screen only. currently, I removed the back trim cap but cant seem to pop down the headliner with the black button in the center. Is this just a matter of prying down cause I'm afraid to put too much force on it. Also, the two pillars on either side they are held in place by two black plastic buttons. I have read that you have to remove the coat hangers which have a star bolt in the center. After removing the bolts does the pillar just slide back or...
Also, are their any DECENT videos or pics for step by step?

    Thanks in advance

I've got the same problem with our '09; have a new shade ready to install, but am stuck on the side trim. A member referred me to a video which shows the rear trim being removed to install a remote start setup. The button in the center-rear of my headliner released OK, but with the side trim still installed, I can't move the headliner enough to work on the shade mechanism.

Hi, had the same issue with my 2010 Q5. Did not have to remove the rear trims. Just released the centre knob of the roof headliner and pulled it carefully down. The headliner in my car is elastic enough to pull it down and afterwards squeeze it up again. Can't see any damage.
