Black Edition to Chrome?

Hi everyone. Probably a stupid question but I’ll ask anyway 😄 looking at getting a sepang blue A5. They only seem to come in black edition but I prefer the chrome look. Is there any way of changing the black edition window trims to chrome? Thanks.

Anything is possible, but it probably isn’t worth the cost.

You could try that, but bear in mind that those trim pieces are delicate. They are not intended to be removed so they are easily damaged if you’re not careful. Alternatively look around some websites that sell OEM parts... som might have the parts at a not too astronomical price.

Not stupid at all, you have the right to prefer the chromed ones. Like other said, ideal would be to swap for free otherwise not worth the cost, these are not cheap

I too like aluminum / chrome looks than blacked parts. You can easily get used OEM front grill, front lower grills, side mirrors and rear valance on eBay. I got slightly used OEM S5 rear valance for $180, a set of new S5 front lower grills for $200 and new matt aluminum side mirrors for $310. I have A5 but I like the extended aluminum areas on S5 parts and thankfully S-Line is compatible with S5 parts. Buying OEMs from official dealers would cost a lot more. There are good deals with mint conditions or even new OEM parts on eBay so I recommend keep shopping around but be patient to find those pieces because there are new listings everyday. I would say you can replace all exterior black optic parts for under or a little bit over $1,000 - and you can sell your parts to make that up. There are many DIY videos on YouTube and I work on replacing those pieces on my own so I save money on labors (plus I don't trust mechanics in general). The only challenging bit I see, at least for me, is replacing side window moldings.
