Question TSW Bathurst Proper Sizing for B8.5 S4???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Guys need some help from the Wheel and Tire Cognoscenti, I just bought a set of TSW Bathurst for my 2013 S4. The tire place and TSW are recommending this fitment, 19 X 8.5 5-112.00 et32. I thought that most of the S4s are running a 19x9.5 with no issues. What should I ask them to order and test fit to my car? Do I keep the 8.5 or ask them to move me to the 9.5. I live in Cleveland and I don't want any rubbing. I am currently rubbing with my existing setup:

    • 19 X 9.5 GroundForce Wheels
    • Sports 255/35/19
    • H&R OE Sport Springs

    Please help, thanks in advance!

Being that the wheels are 8.5 wide and have an 32ET, I'd say that's pretty aggressive enough with your lowering springs.

I'm at ET 39* 9.5 but with a 10mm spacer so an effective ET of 29 lowered on KW and I have rubbing. I can't imagine that ET32 would be much difference.

Attached a photo for reference. I'm forced to run the spacers due to the BBK but without it I think you'll be fine.

I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

They recommended 8.5 because it's OEM size and safer, but 32ET is still aggressive, maybe 38-40ET is better to avoid rubbing. If going with 9.5, I would go with 45ET to avoid rubbing. Note that 255's on 9.5 has a little stretch like your current setup.

Thinking you may need to check fitment better....

    They don't make 19x9.5 in the 66 center bore - it's a 72 and it's 39 offset....

So you could have them ground down to proper centerbore or do rings work in this case?

But research shows 40 offset is about the limits for 255 @ 9.5" for 255 tire width....

EVERY s4 that I found with with Bathurst is on 20" sizing 20x9 35 offset

So I pulled off my wheels, and see that my Current setup is a 19x9.5 ET15 and I am running into the inside of the fender lip. I can see where it has worn a mark, so I am out too far. Here is a picture of the Bathurst in 19x9.5 et39.

I'm running TSW Nurburgrings 19 X 8.5 5 et32 and they stick out a tad too much on stock suspension. They'll rub when I hit large bumps. You might barely get away with it with tires that are not too wide at the stock 19" size. If you're lowered, I wouldn't recommend.

With bore size not being stock 66.6, there will be issues with the hub ring resulting in vibrations.
Hard to explain but the S4 hub has a raised ridge that's sized 66.6 in diameter while the rest of the hub is actually smaller in diameter. The hub ring doesn't sit on top of that ridge so it doesn't work properly. I had to resort to putting some tape on the hub right next to the plate so the hub ring is snug resulting in no vibrations.

Every post I see makes me more confused, I really do better with yes and no answers... I see here they ran my proposed setup without issues, what do you think? - https://www.fitmentindustries.com/wh...wering-springs

Here's the best answer....It fits. It will look 'weird' on a stock car - which you will not be. You may - most likely - will rub but it depends on several factors, your tires and eventually how low you go. phanker is running wheels thats 1" narrower that whats in the link you provided and he occasionally rub so i think its safe to say that you will encounter the same issue. Hopefully that helped.

it looks like the bathurst is et 39 on the 19x9.5 setup
in reference to tires, you mean Michelin Pilot Sports when you say "sports" right?
if so, you will be fine, even lowered on the OE springs. that setup is arguably the most common setup on this forum (with the amount of AG wheels that are 19x9.5et40)
the tire sidewall will be much more square on a 8.5" wheel and you have a fair to decent chance of minor rubbing.
push them to do the 19x9.5et39 setup and call it a day. if the hub bore is 72, just run a hub ring

I have 19x9.5 et 40 with H&R OE sports and there is 0 rubbing or chance of rubbing.

How bad is your setup hitting the fender? My wheels are really concave so I need a 15mm spacer to fit a BBK, but mocking it up it seemed like there was no chance in fitment (would be equivalent to ET 25)

I'm in the Columbus area if you're down here you we can swap wheels around so you can see the fitment.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and help. Talked to Tsw today and they verified the 8.5 and 9.5 fitment. So I am going to keep with the 9.5 for the deep concave. Will post pics soon.
