Anyone have a speed by gear by rpm chart for the RS3 with stock size tires?

    Thanks.

Speed by Gear by RPM Chart

I had to make a calculator in Excel from scratch because of the two different final drives.

I can try to post a screenshot later this evening when I get home.

    That'd be great.
Curious - what were the 2 final drive options?
Asked differently, what option would change the final drive ratio?

There aren’t final drive options per say, the gearbox actually uses a different final drive internally depending upon the gear you are in.

    Gears 1, 4, 5 and R use a 4.06 final drive. Gears 2, 3, 6 and 7 use a 3.45.

So our goal should be getting to 230 mph top speed. How much power do we need for that

When you hear the RS3 has a 7 speed trans, you assume it has some tightly spaced cogs. However, only 1 to 4 are really the acceleration gears for most, with 5 to 7 for cruising.

I'm not an engineer butnit would have been nice to have the 4th ratio closer to 3rd.

On the high hp cars, that 4th gear really makes the car move, giving the MPH in the 1/4 and 1/2....

I found this a while ago. I don't know how accurate it is. Seems a bit high... Perhaps this is what's shown on the speedometer, which in that case means that the real speed would be a bit lower.
I do know that at high speeds (250 kph and above), the speedometer (with oem tires) shows exactly 10 kph too high, and it seems to cap there. I have seen mulitple runs on youtube with 290 indicated (280 real) and a stage one RS3 with 318 indicated (308 real).

Just looked back at some Dragy videos I have from the strip - the shift points are within 1mph of my car. The biggest delta was 4-5 shift, mine happens right at 125 mph, not 128. Super close in any event.
