What years and models (allroad, A6? ) have the 2.7L bi-turbo engine for B5 S4?

    Hi,

I’m positive this question has been answered here probably many times over.
If I want a lower miles 2.7L twin turbo to replace a 220k motor in my 2000 manual S4, what are my options?
There’s a 2003 Allroad with 120k nearby I am tempted to pick it up dirt cheap to pull the engine. Will it be compatible, the Allroad is automatic Transmission, my 2000 S4 is manual.
Any advice on models with compatible motors to swap in would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Point77

Yes it is compatible only issue would be the SAI which you can block off plates for. Other than that all the 2.7T are basically the same

2003 and up are typically BEL motors. Some differences including wiring harnesses, ignition coils, lack of ICM’s in addition to the SAI differences between auto and manual. There are internal motor differences as well but are not germaine to this conversation. There may be more.
