R8 V8 Depreciation and Buying Guide

    Hi Everyone,

I made a depreciation- and buying guide for the Audi R8 V8, based on the US market. This guide was initially made for one person, but I think that anyone who is browsing around here might benefit from it. To my knowledge, most of the information in the guide isn't readily available on the web.

You can see the full analysis in the video below. In short, the guide shows the average price points for the different R8 models, the depreciation per year, forecasted values, depreciation per 1000 miles driven, the fair purchasing prices, and relative value analyses.

One interesting finding is that the depreciation curves for the manual and automatic models differ significantly for the older model years. For the newer model years, however, they are parallel to each other. Also, there seems to be enough evidence to support the conclusion that manuals will stop depreciating sooner than automatic cars. The depreciation per 1000 miles is in line with its peers.

I'm of course open for feedback, so please let me know if you have any suggestions, tips, or questions.

Just the kind of information I need.
    Thank you!
I've been researching for about 6 months and will continue to research. I should be in a position to buy used next spring. I hope i don't miss out on this depreciation curve.

No V10 guide? I have strong suspicions that manual V10 coupes are propping up the entire Gen1 market.

That’s what I’ve been wondering? I love a manual sports car just my preference like standing up to pee and laughing at kids washing cars saying how does this work? Maybe changing a clutch for 1k instead of the transmission for 10k? I think there is a disconnect between a driver and feeling the car with a pdk or twin clutch paddle shifter. I’m sure it’s more efficient or companies wouldn’t do it! I love to pop a 911 Porsche in a hard turn and downshift hammer down and push the front out of a turn. But those days may be over which is why I probably see so many at copart or you tube videos of people wrecking who expect a car to be magical instrument as long as they can use launch control and not side step a clutch? I guess I’m a dinosaur but happy to be a carnivore not a herbivore.

I’m wanting an R8 v10 what is the last year available with manual and are they as high maintenance as my merc s65 Amg 6.5 twin turbo with renntech tune. I only ask cause I’ve found anything over a v8 in exotics to be a garage queen?
