Hi - new here. Although it's anyone's guess at this point, just curious what the buzz is from Audi, dealers and customers about the looming tariffs on EU imports. I factory-ordered an RS7 in February, week 14 production (March 31), and projected delivery mid to late June. The CEO's of BMW and Mercedes have offered a glimmer of hope with their recent statements on reducing or eliminating the auto tariffs between Germany and the US. I've adopted a wait and see for now. I've considered shifting gears and looking for one on a dealer lot, but those would be compromise cars, and I love my build. True first-world problems. LOL.

Ugh I feel you. My RS6 AE order was placed in July 2023 (don't ask- basically dealer didn't have an allocation when AE was open, or so they say....), and it's supposedly finally being built now. Figures on timing.

My '25 arrived last Friday and picked it up today. Night blue pearl effect paint, which is a lot subtler than my other blue Audi's (Mugello, Moonlight, Nogaro, Ara, Sepang and Sprint) which is a good thing as I age into mellower tastes. Color is very close to my Moonlight blue SQ5. Appearance of car is better than I ever could have hoped.
Ordered in May '24 so basically a 10-month wait, with literally no updates from dealer. Got a text from them out of the blue last week saying it arrived the day before. Got a tutorial from the "Audi Delivery Specialist" on the electronics, most of which went over my head so it will be a fun few days figuring everything out on my own. Will get ppf and ceramics coating in a few days. Need to find a decent set of 21" wheels as all season and snow choices for 22" are pretty limited.

25% tariff on all imported cars just announced. Just recently ordered an RS6, will be cancelling unless this goes away. Pretty disappointing, was excited about my spec.

I guess with mine built (per Roger's post just above yours) but not shipped to the US yet, not sure if mine's going to show up 25% more expensive by the time it gets to the dealer, if so, they can keep it lol, not paying upwards of $200K for an RS6.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, if I'm not mistaken, the tariff attaches when it hits the inbound port. Not happy about the news either, but will wait for a little while to see how things play out.

Audi is toast in the US if this stays.

Same here - I got my order in Saturday and had to call and cancel it this morning and will hang on to the '22 until this mess gets sorted. Hopefully the tariff goes away before the '25 MY does...

    Hey Roger,

My salesperson seems to have gone MIA. Could I ask you check on W35210? Last estimate they gave was June/July, but they didn't provide where in the pipeline it was.

For what it's worth, my sales guy said that tariffs attach when the car is wholesaled from manufacturer to the dealer, which like pski said happens when the vehicle leaves the port. I have a full AE interior RS6 that's built and on a price hold due to arrive in May or June. Gonna be a tough decision if it suddenly costs north of $200k.

It's built (...SN908216), completed on the 22nd, but still at the Factory. Dealer (Audi San Jose) Delivery ETA is: 06/19/2025 - 07/03/2025, so that last estimate is still about true ...

For those asking about when tariffs could be applied: likely last at stateside invoicing, so when it's cleared by customs (having had its pricing completed), it's invoiced and Monroney issued. If that's done ahead of the tariff application, you're solid - even if it sits at port for a while - billed is billed...

Thanks! Wish my salesperson would just send these like every month or so.

Praying the tarrifs don't cause the dealer to reneg on the price.

Insist that he does, or insist that his manager does, or tell them you’ll simply buy it elsewhere. Updating a client is the bare minimum.

May need to get a rain check on that one. Car is probably not making it to the US for a while given Audi is pausing all shipments.

Major miss by VAG if Audi makes customers who ordered cars before this pay full tariff cost. Just going to alienate customers and end up with expensive possibly odd builds sitting on lots.

No car manufacturer is going to pay the tariffs out of their own pockets. If the car is delivered after they come into effect, yeah of course it sucks, but that's the way it works. It's not just Audi, this is happening to all imported vehicles.

Lol I literally probably ordered the most expensive build of an RS6 possible, if they try and slap some massive extra cost on it, good luck selling that one guys. Someone is going to eat it if they want to sell the car, and it's not going to be me.

This isn't Audi randomly slapping an extra cost onto the car. This is completely out of their control. I can understand not wanting to pay the tariffs that have been applied to the car but the car manufacturers aren't responsible for this.

Not sure where I said they were responsible for this, but they still have a choice of how to deal with it, as a business. Charge me what I originally agreed to pay for the car, or don't, and try to sell it to someone else.

Mercedes is keeping all prices flat in 2025 so they're paying tariffs. BMW is honoring prices for cars ordered before the tariff announcements so they're paying tariffs. There are many different approaches being taken.

For those of you gearing up for a new car delivery, you may be dreading the final grind meeting with the finance guy where, in rapid fire succession, they lay out a menu of service plans and warranties for you to purchase without any real time to consider their relative merits. To blunt the high pressure sales tactic, I'm building a list of the various items so I can consider everything well in advance. Without getting into the pros and cons because YMMV, here's what I have listed below. Curious what others have encountered during recent deliveries. I left off tint, PPF, ceramic because I'll go to a trusted third party for those.

Audi Care; Multi Coverage; Lease End; Vehicle Service; Guaranteed Asset; Term Protection; Tire & Wheel; Key; Theft

The 90 day pause doesn't include cars as the car tariffs were implemented separately.

On some better news, looks like Audi is still shipping cars as my salesperson confirmed my car is on a boat en-route to the US.

On Rennlist, it sounds like Porsche is eating the tariffs for cars built before April (out of the factory by March 31st), so hopefully Audi does the same here.

Just heard from my dealer that my car is due in to port Benicia on 5/1, and they have been receiving cars from port with no tariffs attached. He was however quick to note that the situation could change at any moment. Here's hoping my AE interior RS6 makes it through unscathed from damage, physical and financial!

Ah, the news made it sound like Audi had stopped shipping cars to the US and any in flight cars were held at port.
