RS6 Avant Deposit/Order- Waiting & Chat Room

I figured since it hasn't been started and I'm more smitten than Ralphy unwrapping his Red Ryder BB Gun I'd start a chat for everyone to share updates and info as it becomes available.

I heard rumblings about this and put my deposit down yesterday and #2 on the list. While I've owned RS's in the past I anticipate this one will be huge for Audi.

My dealer anticipates order guides will be available Oct/Nov with the first units landing potentially in Spring.

While this is all speculation I'm curious to see what other people have been told re; options, MSRP, Etc.

So did you just call your dealer and say you wanted to put a deposit on one? How much did you have to put down and what does it actually get you - just first dibs (2nd I guess in this case) on ordering one?

I have a long standing relationship with my Audi dealer having owned north of 15 Audi's so I emailed my salesperson and the GM letting them know I'd like to be on the allocation list.
And yes I put a few grand down and once the order guides come up it allows me to configure and essentially take delivery of the #2 allocation once produced.

I'm unsure of the exact formula to date but I do believe RS allocation(s) to dealers are predicated on their S and RS sales plus all around volume doesn't hurt either.

Got it, makes sense. As excited as I am, I'm not sure I'm quite ready to put a deposit down yet as I'd like to learn more details...plus I don't have anywhere near the sort of relationship it sounds like you have with your local dealer.

For the first time in my life, I'm considering buying a brand new Audi. I'm waiting for more information, but my current daily A6 is going into the dealer tomorrow. I'm hoping to at least chat with the salesmen about it, if dealers even know anything yet. Still too early in the game to pull any triggers, especially when I consider the depreciation lol. Most likely I will go the CPO route.

I’ve been in discussions with my local dealer for a while and officially put down a deposit about 6 weeks ago to secure the first allocation in town (so I’m told).

Very exciting that something that has just been wallpaper for so many years is now a possibility.

Most always but ask as each dealer is different. I would validate prior to any deposit.

Been harassing my local dealer's sales manager for 6-8 months. Finalyy took a deposit ~10 days ago. Said I'm #1, guaranteed custom order.

We'll see.

I'm hearing deliveries as early as Dec/Jan, as late as 4th Q 2020. Anyone else?

Bought my RS3 at Audi State College in October and told my salesman then that if the RS4 or 6 Avant ever made it stateside, I was buying it from him.

Announced around 6 PM Eastern on Tuesday, I had the deposit down for first allocation they receive by about noon yesterday.

The possibility of this thing coming was the only thing keeping me from tuning and performing suspension work on the RS3. Glad I stayed patient.

Hey all. I have a deposit in NJ as well. Supposedly either an allocation or custom build. Excited. We are all here because we've been fantasizing about it for a decade+ and it's finally here.

Build will be documented probably here and on my IG as I go through cars pretty often. Having said that, this one is probably a keeper. This car to me is perfection. The poster child of daily, family, track, show piece and garage queen all in ONE. I don't think any other car does all these things so perfectly.

Whats the starting price of the RS6 avant?

Technically it is slotted under the RS7 which started at $114k when they were brand new in 2018. The closest comp is the 2019 E63 S Wagon which starts are just under $109k. These are the best comps to look at to get an idea since pricing hasn't been released yet.

$1,000. This holds your spot until you actually build it, and from there you and your SA could figure out what you want to to do going forward.. lease/finance/cash, etc.

One thing that piques my interest in the car (besides the potential for tuning for more torque and power) is the tow hook option. Anybody have a guess on how many pounds of towing capacity the car might have?

I bet you are correct. I also saw the C7 RS6 Avant tow # of 2100 kilo's or 4,630 lb., and Audi is speccing this 4.0LTTV8 with 800Nm/590lb-ft. of torque, so 5K lb's. sounds about right.

Just my 2 cents from a guy that is annoyed by this wavey moustache design on the rear bumper...

Found this Photoshop of the rear end and this would have been the looks I was hoping to see from factory on the rs6.

Ooof. Thanks boss. Pricing will vary slightly, I'm sure, but that at least gives us an idea of what to expect price wise, assuming the overall price of the C8 doesn't jump that much higher than the C7.
