Anyone have some miles on F. A. G. Bearing?

Need bearings, possibly all the way around. Ecs has a kit of all four of the brand in the subject (have to be careful, forum may think it’s a bad/derogatory word). It’s a fraction of the OEM kit.

Anyway I’ve heard that this is the same company that makes the OEM. Least when I search I find that so I’m wondering if I should just buy those or if anyone has and has since put some miles on their car and had any comments, good or bad.

Looking forward to a quieter cockpit!

I've used that brand in my B5 that I tracked a lot. No complaints. Never had to replace them again.

I've never fitted that make, but they have a great reputation as a quality bearing manufacturer. Same for SKF, Timkin

    Oh, they are German too

I work with large rotating equipment for a living. *** bearings do have a good reputation, but we always source SKF whenever possible.

Spoke to my mechanic about those bearings, he gave them good praise. They do make OEM bearings for Audi, not 100% sure if they are the ONLY one Audi sources from but they definitely do for many parts.

in text conversations with people ive always just called them effaygee bearings

Used F.A.G. bearings in my B5 and they held up fine.

about 40 000km on mine (both fronts) so far, with a lot of beating on the car

Edit : F.A.G and SKF are the 2 leaders in OEM bearings (not just wheel). They both manufacture a lot of bearings for almost all car makers

Same and same, FCP also. The only issue I had was I couldn’t find he hub and bearing together so I had to have them pressed before the install.

    F. A. G is the OEM wheel bearing supplier for this platform. They were a stand alone company started in Schweinfurt, Germany and were purchased by the Schaeffler Group (INA, Herzogenaurach, Germany) in 2002. The name of the original company was Fischer Aktien Gestellshaft.

Similar to how VAG is Volkswagon Aktien Gestellshaft. The AG is something about company.

Fun fact: Friedrich Fischer was the first guy to invent the machine that can grind steel into a perfect ball in 1883. F. A. G. was purchased by the Schaeffler group in 2002.

Quality company and good products. I just feel that if they explained their name a little better they could be more popular!!
