AudiConnect without SIM card slot

Greetings everyone!
I have recently purchased a late 2013 Audi A7 Sportback (Europe). I am satisfied with the vehicle however I was bummed out to find out that my version doesn't have a SIM card slot in the middle of the 2 SD card slots. However recently I received a notification from the MMI saying: "No data connection for Audi Connect is available. There may not be a SIM card inserted." ( Check the attachment).
Now to me this seems weird considering that I don't have a SiM tray. Is there something I am missing or I don't know about cause I would really love it if I could use Audi Connect. Or is this simply a bug on the MMI system itself. Thanks in advance !

Seems odd, that WLAN service I believe is for Audi Connect enabled cars only, for which you should have the SIM card slot. Although it's region specific so if it's not available the car doesn't ship with the sim card slot in that region. My 2014 A6 doesn't have it either in Canada.

Do you have Audi Connect in the menu anywhere? It's completely gone on mine.

No I haven't seen it say AudiConnect anywhere besides this Pop-up
