    B9 A4 Exhaust Options!

    [email protected] | +1.480.966.3040 x270 | www.vividracing.com

    Hi folks!

I wanted to get a thread together showcasing some of the exhausts that are available for the B9 A4. Feel free to chime in with your favorite or what you are running, I'm sure everyone would like to hear it!

    First up, AWE!

AWE has a couple different options for the A4. Their Switchpath, Touring and of course, Track.

    Lets cover the Switchpath first:
MSRP: 3,047.37 on sale for: 2,895.00 USD with chrome tips

    From AWE:
Valve closed for sophistication, valve open for aggression. All at the touch of the SwitchPath™ Remote button. Tone at your fingertips. Equipped with a 3” resonated downpipe, a 3” valved straight section on the driver’s side and 2.5” piping with a muffler on the opposing passenger’s side, the AWE Tuning SwitchPath™ Exhaust is capable of changing soundtracks instantly with the touch of the SwitchPath™ Remote button at any time. Drone-free mood control accompanied by addicting, crackling gear shifts and impressive performance. Constant, all-around satisfaction.

    Up next, The Touring:
MSRP: 1,626.32 on sale for: 1,545.00 USD with chrome tips

    From AWE:
The AWE Tuning Touring Edition features a 3” Non-Resonated Downpipe, and is fully armed with AWE Tuning’s proprietary drone-canceling solution,180 Technology® on all sides... enabling the perfect tone, minus the drone.
The outcome? The ultimate mix of performance and sophistication. A direct bolt-on, straight-through design, the Touring Edition Exhaust delivers a civil, smooth soundtrack throughout the range while providing an enhanced in-cabin driving experience in any Drive Select mode.

    And now The Track:
MSRP: 1,152.63 on sale for 1,095.00 USD with chrome tips

    From AWE:
The Track Edition Exhaust is for drivers who want to keep it cranked to 11 at all times. The Track Edition Exhaust takes the engineered design of the Touring Edition Exhaust, including the 3” Non-Resonated Downpipe, and replaces the rear AWE Tuning 180 Technology® resonators with Track Edition straight pipe sections, completely uncorking the B9 A4.
This version is known to get rowdy in the mid range, and may be too much for many. For that reason, this particular version cannot be returned due to sound preference. Prepare yourself.

    Now, Armytrix:
MSRP: 2,380.00 USD with quad chrome tips
Required rear diffuser for quad tips: 490.00 USD
Armytrix has a few different tip options.. Carbon is 2,980.00 and Matte Black is 2,680.00
    .

    From Armytrix:
Enhance your Audi A4 by adding the ARMYTRIX Super Sport Stainless Steel Exhaust System. This system will increase power, reduce weight, and improve sound. This precision-made performance system delivers more power, especially in the low and mid rev range, the effect on the sound is significant, adding a deep resonant sporty sound, but at the same time neutralizes the annoying frequencies in the most critical rpm range. Complete the look with a set of four sporty chrome polished silver tailpipes. ARMYTRIX exhaust systems differ from other brand' exhaust systems with their unique "Throttle Pedal Sensor and Engine RPM Signal Auto Functions". Through this system ARMYTRIX offers car owners a better launch-start without losing backpressure by automatically closing the valves at low rpm. When your car is driving at high speeds, the valves will automatically open to increase air flow for better performance (hp & torque gained) and sound.

    Now for CTS Turbo:
    MSRP: 1,199.99 USD

    From CTS:
CTS Turbo has been dedicated to manufacturing performance parts for enthusiasts by enthusiasts since its inception. The CTS Turbo B9 Audi A4 2.5″ cat-back exhaust system is hand tig welded using the finest T304 stainless steel. Our exhaust system was designed for both street use and big turbo abuse. The 2.5″ design of the CTS Turbo B9 Audi A4 cat-back is ideal those of us chasing serious horsepower.

    Milltek, anyone?
MSRP" 1,890.01 USD for polished dual tips
Other tip options are Cerakote Black, Brushed Ti and Burnt Ti
Systems vary between Resonated, Road+ and a non-resonated Catback

No video for this one (without taking it from someone without permission lol)
If you have an A4 equipped with a Milltek exhaust, please post it up!!

    From Milltek:
Our range of Cat-Back systems are perfectly suited to cater for anyone looking to improve their sound and aesthetics, designed as a direct replacement for the original system, available in multiple configurations enabling the owner to choose the increase in volume of their exhaust and/or add a more suitably aggressive tone. All our products are made from 304L “Aircraft” Grade stainless steel. This quality material will ensure that your Cat-Back system will last through any harsh conditions.

I hope you guys find this helpful! Like I said, chime in with what you are running or what your favorite is.

And don't forget tocheck out our R8 Widebody build!

I can't decide between milltek and awe. I can't tell which sounds better. AWE includes a downpipe but no additional performance which is confusing.

Which version of the exhausts are you looking into? I think the lack of gains are because they aren't messing with the cat. Hence the No CEL Guarantee they provide. The exhausts they offer give a gain of up to 12 hp and 11 ft-lbs, though!

Sorry. Just saw the responses. Thanks! So you think the Milltek has a more refined sound? I'm trying for better sound but not loud.

Do any of these options work on the 2019s?

I reached out to AWE and was informed that their current offerings do not fit the A4; presumably because of the rear exhaust fascia. Given that the 2019 seems to be the outlier as the 2020s are now updated again, I wonder if the 19s will ever have aftermarket options.

I was trying to compare exhaust options and install photos, and it looks like it'll fit if the exhaust tips are not included or remanned from the OE mufflers, but I do not want to take that chance.

Correct. These are all exhaust that are confirmed to fit the 2018. I'm sure the 19's will have options soon and when they do I'll be sure to update the thread.

I know the guys at PacificGerman are running this exhaust on their A4 B9 shop car, but I'm not certain this is quieter than say the Miltek Resonated exhaust.

That's a tough choice. I've heard amazing things about both! I will say, with the CTS sale, their price is very very hard to beat. Especially with Vivid's forum discount!
