    Why no rolling anti lag?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is it possible to get anti lag/rolling launch using these steps? What's the downside?

    1. Establish desired mph
    2. Pull and hold cruise control stalk to maintain speed
    3. Press gas pedal to the floor
    4. Release cruise control stalk at designated boost level.

Is it very difficult to program this without using syvecs?

I agree, I loved that feature in my GTR. Launch @ 60 with 1G of acceleration. It was brutal

Should be similarly achievable by getting a tune that enables left foot braking?

    Accelerate to desired speed
Right foot gas to floor left foot brake to maintain speed
    Let off brake

    Should work?

    Unitronic tunes allow for it!

No, it does not deliver the same results. Using left foot braking is really inconsistent, at least for me it is. Also, incredibly difficult to hold the correct mph without creeping forward.

Really? Are you referring to left foot braking or the cruise control stalk launch?

Left foot braking is allowed even in stock form, here is the deal, you cant be on gas and then push brakes. It will cut.

You must be on gas, get to just over desired range, lift gas entirely, engage brakes slightly and then depress accelerator again. You can brake boost the f*>k out of these cars, even stock. On stock turbo I rarely bother, it's very responsive as we all know.

Rolling anti lag is 100% programmable by most tuners. It's also very hard on turbine wheels so I think most wont or dont offer it. I have it, its set to 14 psi, -23 degrees, 20/30/40/60mph holds and basically never use it.

On a side note, some tunes and even versions of the stock programming had a bug, it's actually been discussed even here at length, it was almost like an unpredictable rolling anti lag lol. I accidentally found it myself at one point.

The stock ecu is extremely flexible if you are okay with changing code and not just calibrating maps, even with just mapping, the ecu can do a lot. The stock launch control for instance is fully adjustable in regards to afr, timing, boost PID, etc. Same with engine aggressiveness during shifts and boost hold.

Just using the cruise control lever to maintain speed while the gas is fully depressed. I dont think it exist for this platform but that's what I would really like to see developed.

I figured it out a while ago too, I just wanted something a bit more consistent. I cant really get a clean run using this method. Sometimes lots of boost, sometimes not so much.

Just picked up my Syvecs setup and the anti-lag is ridiculous. As my B5 S4 buddy put it..."worth the price of admission".

I'm switching over to a hybrid very soon, what's the cost of the syvecs system? Do you know of any shops in So Cal that can do it? I'm seriously interested in antilag.

The Syvecs unit by itself is around $5200 and the installation/programming is $2,500 (2 years of support) through Iroz in Las Vegas.

If you haven't seen the video they made with my car yet, there's some good info on it. They talk about the flex fuel element more than the anti-lag but still good info.

If you want to come down to Tustin I can give you an anti-lag experience. We are meeting in Tustin this Thursday pm me for details.
