    2020 Facelift S4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Wasn't the B9 S4 just released recently couple years? Facelift already for 2020.

Looks like for european market. What will we have for north american market? 347hp is weak considering BMW's new M340i is 382HP.

It's diesel in EU, will be gas in NA. I don't know that they've released specs yet for NA.
I personally don't like the exterior change. I also prefer the turn dial, rather than touchscreen. But graphics and large screen would be nice. I also prefer the plastic trim on center console compared to the piano black. I've only seen it in that Hyundai blue so maybe a different color will have a different impression on me.

I agree with each one of your points. Not a fan of the looks and the turn dial is great. You dont have to reach for anything and helps to keep your eyes on the road. Its also lightning quick.

So glad I pulled the trigger on a B9 last year. Not a fan of the B9.5 changes on the front bumper nor whats ahead of us for 2020.

Is their chief designer also working at Hyundai? Hate to say this but there are some similarities such as the vents just below the hood. The shape and design of the grille was already too close one to another (reason why I changed my grille to an RS one).

So far Im not a fan of the new headlights. I love the ones I got on the B9. Looks so mean with the sharp edges.

Luke any other model changes it will eventually grow on us I suppose or they will just get a new design lead and bring it back together (and bring real muffler tips back as well).

I'd rather have the b9 rotors on it but everything else looks great and it's visually an upgrade over mine

Anyone know when the 2020 s4 will be available? Can’t seem to find any info. Hoping for a little more depreciation on the ‘18 when ‘20 comes out, ready to pull the trigger... even have b9 s4 parts sitting around the house already. Thanks!

Most likely August 2020 you will see them in the actual dealerships since end of Q1 is usually when the A models are starting to trickle in.

I like the aesthetics of the new S4 but I don't know how I will feel about the new MMI not having a physical control. That track pad may take A LOT of getting used to.

In the video if you look where the turn knob used to be it looks like a TouchPad, it could be a touch screen but it's all the same to me as I'm sure it will have similar functionality as the "writing letters" from the turn knob with maybe smart actions to control the MMI based on what's on the screen.

Watch this review at 2:30 into it he shows that all they put in place of the physical controls is a storage compartment. It is ridiculous, wish it was a track pad.

Yea no, not at all. There are no controls on the console for the mmi. It’s entirely touch screen

That sucks. Thay tiny ass storage compartment is what I thought was a track pad. That's very a disappointing change

So is the screen all touch now? If it is that is a crappy change and they won't get a good response from existing Audi owners.

I personally find the B9 S4 turn knob annoying, especially how it is in front of the shifter. On the flip side, the size of the S4 cabin is pretty big and its a pretty long reach to the touch screen... wish they would just give us both options (touch screen and turn knob). I find myself wanting a touch screen whenever I use Apple car play

Only thing cool about it are the headlights and taillights (on the prestige w/ matrix)

They aren’t real matrix though. They are “matrix-style” headlights in the US.

saw that you can now build the 2020 S4 on Audi's website. not sure if this was mentioned but it doesn't seem like they changed the engine or transmission ...can anyone confirm?

so weird they did a face lift in 2019 then a year later another facelift ...

At least 2019 was really just a bumper change right? This is a bastardization of the design completely.

I really like the headlights, but it ends there.

Fog lights look real real cheap, reminds me of the hyundai Kona?!

The chrome trims make it actually look cheap as well (Buick?!)

I was never a big fan of a screen popping on the dash like that. I drove the B9 a4 and was not a fan of it. And now u have to actually touch it?! Urgh

Dont like the chrome line on top of the exhaust. Very ugly.

Not a fan of the mags.

Am finding older s4s are more classy.

I do like the new tech though.

The gap on the front hood and how the design line on the side of the car no longer exist. The line going along side the whole car now stops at the doors, To me it looks weird. The new software on the cockpit is interesting, Maybe if I had it it’ll grow on me but it’s meh. The touchscreen I could use, I will be on the lookout for a totaled S4 or a retrofit kit so I can take only the screen. They messed up the B9.5 design cues and it’s sad really. Again, Just my opinion

I like the blue color, but that's about it. Not a fan of the other styling cues, but it may look alright with the black optics package. Not excited about the awkward reach to the touch screen, though it looks like some functions still have buttons instead of being buried in a menu. The way they did the gauge display reminds me of a late 80's Chrysler Le Baron.

And the start button is, like the B9, buried all the way there for no logical reason. Why would they put it in a hard to reach location than it was on the b8/b8.5 is still is a mystery.

I do think a fully blacked out trim, with no chrome, might look good. Oh well am waiting for the b10
