Easiest Exhaust Tips to replace Stock with?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I know added a full Cat-Back is really not worth it on this car. So the next best thing for sound is the res delete and adding fresh new tips to make your exhaust look better!

Can someone point me in the right direction? Id like gloss black tips, but dont know what size or which manufacturer is the easiest to install?

ECS has swivel tips for 150 for a pair... seems a little expensive...
42Draft Designs has nice looking tips, but idk anyone with them...
The oem gloss black tips from audi are 120 for a pair, doesnt seem bad but they are no bigger than stock... just gloss black.

    Help!

I'm tempted to do it, but hesitate to pull the trigger since that requires cutting the OE tips and therefore no longer reversible in case I decide that I may not like the new look. Anything that works that does not require any cutting of the OE tips? Thanks.

Why non-reversible? You still can weld the stock tips back on.

    Done!

Not gonna lie it was tougher than I thought it was going to be. Actually took longer putting on the new tips then cutting the old ones off (btw if you rent or buy the chain type exhaust tool that does not have vise grip like clamping to keep the pressure consistent then use vise grips on the tool to emulate vise grips otherwise it is very tough to cut the original tips off. This will save you a lot of time and frustration). The fit of the new tips were so tight the hardware had to be removed. I then slid them on (that was the tough part as they were almost too tight so had to work them back and forth and sandpaper off the powder-coating on the inside to get them on) and then once in the right place I just drilled the tailpipe in the hole where the hardware was to go and used self tapping zinc screw at the bottom of each one to secure them on (similar to what the other person show in the other thread). Took about 3 hours in total to complete (and a lot of sweat, cussing and elbow grease).

Happy with the result and if I had to do it again I would have paid the $120 at the muffler shop and had them do it for me.

PlastiDip them black. Holds up very well. Helps keep them clean. Just spray with goo gone year later to remove and it will be just like new underneath.

I had mine Auto flexed in gloss black,I think they came out great. I didn’t feel like cutting and welding. I did all the badges as well and saved a ton of money compared to the usual Tag motorsport black out package lol
