    Going Catless

    Hi everyone,

I was hoping I could get an overall opinion from those that are catless, about the set-up. I知 interested in noise and smell issues. I was wondering if any issues, (or lack of issues), are manufacturer specific, (either hardware, or tune). I知 not concerned about emission testing. I値l be running stage 2 Uni, (E85), and am looking to get an APR downpipe. I知 trying to decide on cat versus catless mids; I知 open to other pipe options, though.

    Thanks.

I'm running APR catless Downpipes with APR catted midpipes. Sounds great. No smell for me, the catted midpipes really help with that.

Catless all the way back was too loud for me and did smell. I put the mid cats back in and have been very happy with it. I am stg. 2 uni

Have to agree with S4charged, APR downpipe with catted midpipes are the best combination for street driving. Sounds and tone are just right with little to no smell what so ever that we have seen.

If your'e ready to pull the trigger, we have all APR products in stock ready for same day shipping

Are you planning on running the OEM exhaust from the mids back?

APR Downpipe & Catless mid's with Stage 2 e85 tune.

Sound was initially a little loud for my liking, however it's completely controllable with right foot input.
In D it's plenty quiet. In Sport (with pops & bangs file) it's a little loud at downshifts and off throttle, but not unbearable.

There is some smell, usually in the garage when I get home. Several of the people I interact with run big turbo V8's with side exit exhaust, it's quite tame compared to that.

any thoughts on the idea being floated today, on the forum, about catless being better for the engine in a stage 2 set-up?

Even a high flow cat will create backpressure on the turbo. I assume that the tuners account for this, so for me it was simply the ability to make the car louder.

Can people with catless comment on the wastegate rattle? I guess I hear conflicitng things from people saying it's unbearable and sounds like their car is broken, to people in these thread not really saying anything at all. I have the iroz catless ready to go in but I'm a little hesitate, mainly for the wastegate rattle issue.

Maybe I should of prefaced first. I've already done A LOT of research regarding the wategate rattle and I've already done the wastegate rod adjustement. I guess it's just I hear some people REALLY complain about it (after DP install) and then I hear some people say absolutely nothing, so just trying to gauge how bad the noise really is with a DP, especially during daily driving/part throttle.
