    Typical downpipe installation cost

    Hey all,

I'm pricing out going stage 2, and I wanted to see how much everyone is typically paying for a downpipe installation.

Currently being quoted $588 by 034 motorsports, want to see if that seems par for the course.

A little over $200. Having recently done stage 2 myself (bare minimal bolt-on's in a downpipe) you're looking at about $2200-$2500 on the lower end labor, tune and downpipe included.

New German Performance in the Balt/DC area is charing around $350 for DP install on an S3. I think they were offering installs for something like $200 if you bought the DP from them.

To the OP. I installed a APR downpipes on my S3, it took me about 2:50 minutes but I wasted a solid 15-20 minutes talking to someone while installing it very slowly and double checking it, I also took various small breaks. I told people on the forum that if I had to do it again it would have taken me about 2 hours and 15 min max. A shop should not charged you more than 2.5 hours.

You will need triple square and torque wrench as special tools.

If you buy the downpipe from us it's $220. If you supply it, $300.

That seems pretty reasonable. I'd jump on that if they are a decent shop. I just did myself in the driveway, but if you don't like projects that seems a decent deal.

Turbo inlet and insert is an hour job max, and is a very simply and straight forward DIY. If it were me, I would save those two items for a fun Saturday morning DIY and get the shop at or below $200 for just the downpipe install.

Sadly no matter what it would be 250 so I said screw it just do all of it 😂, it’s a shop that made the Intercooler for my car so he does great work and is normally reasonable for pricing... normal price here is 125-150 an hour so charging me 2hrs for instal l of everything is ok in my book
