    Audi S5 Front Brake Upgrade

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm wondering what sort of upgrades people have made to their brakes.
I have slotted/drilled rotors and SS lines etc., but what's the next upgrade?
I've looked at different calipers (but these just look nasty):

I realize there's different levels of the link above.
I don't want to spend a fortune, but want a bit more stopping power.
I have stock 19" wheels, and I don't mind going to a bigger rotor etc.
Any suggestions, keep clear of etc?
    TIA

The Brembo calipers are going to give you your best bang for buck, but I would not buy them from ECS.

FCP Euro sells them for over $250 less and has that fantastic warranty.

Here's an option. The 2 piston calipers are from 2014 Audi A6 (C7) 3.0T. Rotors are 356MM EBC Dimpled and Slotted with Stoptech Ceramic pads. They were direct fit onto my 2010 S5 V8 but the wheels were a TIGHT Fit (Rotiform KPS 19x10) specifically near the cover plate mounting bolt. I'd imagine it really depends on the wheel design as there was lots of clearance on the outside of the caliper where you would expect it to touch

Very nice upgrade, I wish I'd known the C7 A6/A7 356mm fronts fit the B8 A5/S5, I have a set with 8k miles on them and would have went that route! They look great and I'm sure stopping distances have decreased.

Definitely stops great when paired with a sticky tire. Calipers can be had fairly cheaply and aftermarket rotors aren't all that expensive. The caliper themselves is huge in comparison with the stock S5

Another option is a 6 piston B9 Akebono caliper with the same 356MM A6 rotor as above. Requires a spacer on the caliper mount, bolt on otherwise.
