Question Sound settings in MMI (RMC, 6.5"): Subwoofer volume not working

    First of all: Regards

    I recetly bought an Audi A6 C7 2.0TFSI.

I've been looking around in the MMI Media settings and found that Highs and Lows/bass volume work just fine, but when i try to set a different level for the Subwoofer option it does nothing, no change if i turn it all the way up or down.

All my audio comes from my cellphone (S10+) through Bluetooth.

It's not like i have no bass at all it sound pretty good actually, but the fact that changing that option doesn't make any difference makes me wonder if maybe the subwoofer is really working or not.

How can i check if it's really working? the speaker over the trunk seems to be connected and present.

    Thank you in advance

Thank you for taking the time to answer

i do not have the logos, but i indeed have a fat speaker installed and wired with what seems to be original cabling and connetor behind the headrests of the passengers / top of the trunk under a speaker grill.

I just experienced this myself while attempting to replace the sub with an aftermarket set up. What I found is that if GALA was enabled the subwoofer control seemed overridden. Turn off GALA and try again you may notice a difference. All the controls were much more responsive with that off.

Also the standard non bose system does have a sub in the rear deck. It's a 10 in sub.

    10" Sub

will look into installing some other subwoofer

i looked into the GALA Settings and seems to be something like a speed aware music volume system. it adjusts volume and EQ to you driving speed

i find it interesting that when GALA is ON you can change Bass and Highs but not the subwoofer

yup, it's not much of a sub, but it's pretty efficient. Very small magnet and paper cone, but it works well in that rear deck. It's very easy to upgrade the sub with a AudioCodes line converter tapped into the factory amp, and then throw a box in the trunk. I wouldn't recommend putting an aftermarket sub in the rear deck free air. I tried it and was sorely disappointed. In fact I'm completely back to stock right now after experimenting. There are quite a few posts on this forum as to how to proceed with that.

will see how it goes, it is going in the todo list for the car.

First i will be doing a general maintenance and then, install backup camera + Apple Carplay...
then i have to move from my Galaxy S10+ to an Iphone

i have the RMC MMI with the small 6.5" screen and haven't found any android auto box that works with this system, apple carplay (even wireless carplay) is already being sold in aliexpress
It's mandaroty for me to have a way to control Waze in my car got acostumed in my former mazda 3 to the convenience of having Android Auto.
