    13' S4 Battery Replacement

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello. Audi quoted $272.31 for Interstate battery based on my VIN. Online it is showing between $109-$160. I would imagine fairly easy to replace other than the weight itself... Any thoughts or anything i need to consider if i change it. Not sure what it will cost outside for labor.

plenty of threads out there for you to search on this. if you have Nav, probably need an H9 size, without nav, mine was an H8. check out advance auto for their Gold or platinum AGM batteries. if you plan on keeping it for 5 or more years, good idea to go w/ the AGM.

pro tip w/ advance auto: if you have one local to you, go browse on their site, check out the batteries, and give them your email when you get any kind of pop up for it if you don't already have an account. Leave the site then after a little while you'll get an email with a 20% discount. buy the battery w/ local pickup and save yourself about $50. after a core return, ends up being under $150.

and yes, very easy to replace.

Just replaced mine from advanced auto as well, H9 AGM

Another pro tip, if you have a Chase credit card, add advanced auto through the app under benefits, then get an additional 20% on top of advanced auto website 20%, plus core return

Will take you less than 30min to swap if you go slow

Go onto Advanced Auto site and order the battery for in store pickup. You will get 20% off that way. Its is not hard to replace but much more involved than the typical install in a car with the battery in the engine compartment.

Did the H9 fit without any issues?

I think the factory size H8.

It fit, my factory was H9, the battery sizes differed depending on what tech options you had

you can probably use H9 if you want without problems, won’t benefit by spending more on a H9 though

I just replaced mine less than 2 weeks ago with an Advance Auto Parts "AutoCraft Gold" H9, 950 CCA. Part # 95R/H9. Ordered it online with 25% discount for $123 plus tax.
I found my discount code on retailmenot.com: "RMN25". Thanks to previous words of wisdom on this forum I also bought a battery tender to keep all the juices flowing while
removing and replacing the battery. The whole thing took about 20 minutes.

The only thing I wish I'd done differently: changed the battery under some type of covered parking! I replaced mine in the hot Florida sun. At noon.

    Ic, Good to know!

Price on the H8 & H9 is like $10-20 difference. If it fits, I'd probably do it! I live in upstate NY with cold winters, so the extra juice helps!

My BMW came with a H7 & I reaplced it with a H8 with no issues. It was a 1inch londer, so it was pretty tight.

Same with my Subary Legacy. Factory was Group25(550CCA) and I threw in a Group34(800CCA). Funny because the battery tray was huge and there was so much room for a bigger battery, it's like Subaru got cheap and threw in a smaller battery to save money!

I have the H8 AGM in my car as it was the recommended size. I have nav and all of the tech goodies as well. I was told the H9 was overkill and not necessary.
