I noticed this on the RS5 and now also on the S4.
I always drive in S or M and 99% of the time I am in dynamic with the stability fully on or in sport. However, regardless of the setup, this issue occurs consistently.
When trying to accelerate quickly, i.e., mashing the pedal to the floor from a dead stop, there is a noticeable lag in response. It is maybe 1-2 seconds where the car will start to move slowly and then take off quickly once RPMs climb up a bit. To be clear, this is not turbo lag - I feel the turbo kick in a bit after the car starts to actually accelerate - but rather a delay with the car responding to my throttle input. I have drive many turbo, SC and NA cars (both manual and auto) and never experienced anything like this before. My wife has a Tiguan (2.0 turbo) that does not do this at all. My GTI did not do this either (also a 2.0 turbo, but a MT). It almost feels like what happens when you try to take off with a MT and you don't give it enough gas - the car slugs forward a bit until the RPMs can climb and then it rockets forward. I hope this make sense.
I have been searching and read about this topic for a couple days now, but do not seem to find anyone that has a solution. I tried a reset the throttle position with procedure I copied below, but that did not improve the issue either. Someone also mentioned an updated map from the dealer, but no additional details were provided on what this was (no TB provided).
Any input or thoughts would be great. I will schedule an appointment with Audi soon, but was hoping to get some information here first.
This is the procedure I referenced above:
-With the ignition off, push the throttle to the floor and hold it there
-Turn on the ignition, but don't start the engine (i.e. press the start button without simultaneously pressing the brake pedal)
-With the ignition on, continue holding the throttle down for about 10 seconds
-Turn off the ignition and then release the throttle
