My bone stock 2018 RS3 dyno numbers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Wanted to baseline my car....

    Few observations:
    - Runs were done on a mustang dyno (AWD) as you can see on the sheet.
    - First run netted 340+HP/320 TQ
    - Second run numbers were lower, heat soak/warning lights (see below) I guess. Hot as hell today
    - Not sure what's up with the Jagged middle portion. Looks like ESC (or something else??) might've been messing with the run but I'm fairly certain we turned it off prior..
    - There is a blip at the end of both runs where HP numbers are higher If taken into account (358/355HP). Not sure what that's about..
    - Got a bunch of warning lights (parking brake/ESC, etc.) after the first run. went away as soon as I drove off the place.

Anybody else gotten their RS3 on Mustang rollers? If so, how do the numbers compare? Did you notice the same weird s**t going on in the middle/end of the runs??

Havent done a baseline yet. RS3 has taken a back seat to other priorities last two weeks, but nice data. Hopefully some more chime in. If i get a chance, i will swing mine through a local shop and test.

I did a baseline on a dynojet with connected 4 wheel rollers, your numbers are in line with mine (mustang will be lower) so there's little to worry about. We also ran mine with the hood open, then closed as well as sprayed water on the intercooler between runs. The water spraying kept numbers consistent. Your warning lights may have been because the rollers weren't connected (not really sure about your specific dyno) and of course, yes, you would have wanted to have your traction control completely off. I assume you were running in dynamic mode? What was your oil temp reading in the car?

Greatly appreciate all the responses. good stuff.
So, by the looks of it, my car seems to be very close/inline with the posted results so far.
John, since your runs were done on a mustang dyno and are the closest apples to apples comparison posted thus far, any ideas as to the weird stuff in the middle/end of my runs?? do you think, as OE2 mentioned, all 4 rollers not been connected, can cause the jagged middle portion and my warning lights?? I'm following up with the shop to try and confirm..
Just want to make sure the car's solid before biting the bullet.
    Again thanks to all.

So, I called and confirmed with the shop that all 4 rollers were connected and ESP was off.. Can anyone chime in as to why the middle portion of the run looks all wavy (& the warning lights I got during the runs)? should I be worry or could it be just that dyno? just want to make sure the car is clean before picking/dropping a tune.. John any input? ;)

My bet is connected may not be the same as linked. I think you should pull the haldex fuse and dyno FWD and see with traction off.

Thanks. I was just going to post to ask about doing this.. Any warning lights I should expect to see, so I don't freak out!? LOL. Safe to do this I'm assuming..

My baseline run for my 2018 RS3 had a similar dip at 3700 RPM. AWD mustang Dynamometer. 343 HP/ 339 TQ.

After going APR stage 2 and throwing her back on the same dyno the hiccup was no longer there.

I’ve seen this dip on multiple dyno sheets here. Would love to know what causes it.

Thanks for this. Did u happen to get a bunch of warning lights like I did (ABS/ESC/Parking brake, others) during your runs? that's why I'm still harping on this. Just wanna confirm my car is good and I can just pin it on the dyno I used.. or if there is something there, take it to Audi & get it corrected before throwing a tune.. I'm planning to do what Allerum suggested and run it in FWD mode just to see..
