    Car Seat for 2013 S7

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looking for feedback on car seats for a 2013 S7 with comfort seating. All of the available Audi information I could find was very dated and the car seats listed have since been discontinued.

Feel free to respond in the following format:

    1. List Year and Car Model
    2. Stock [or] Comfort Seats
    3. List Car Seat Model
    4. Forward Facing [or] Rear Facing
    5. How well does it fit?

I have a 2015 A6 and two little boys one 4 and one 8 months. Everything we have is Graco. So I have the car seat base for the baby on the passenger side and a front facing graco on the driver's side. There is enough leg room for the older kid but I am short myself 5'7" so my seat is not far back.

If i get a chance i will take some pics for you. Everything fit perfectly without issue. Modern day car seats are so adjustable anyway I dont forsee you running into any issues.

2014 S7 here. Had a Graco KeyFit 30 early on and now a Britax Boulevard. Both fit perfectly. I have the Britax in the middle using the anchors, had the Graco on the passenger side. Never tried the Graco in the middle...it probably would have worked there too. Stock seats, still rear facing. My daughter is 18 months old and pretty long for her age...she seems comfy.

It sorta sucks getting her in the back with the seat in the middle though. The S7 really doesn't have amazing headroom back there which you're aware of I'm sure. I feel the additional safety of being in the middle is worth the mild inconvenience however.

Overall I would highly recommend the Britax.

Before deciding on the belt or the anchor system look very closely and carefully at how the anchor belt attaches to the car seat. The seat we had was very poorly designed for the Latch system. It had 1 or 2 small screws attaching the latch belt to the car seat

I made a thread about this a little bit ago if you search. We ended up going with a Clek Fllo. It is a little more expensive than your average seat but the safety ratings made it worth it to me. Plus it looks amazing and is quite compact so it fits great in the car. I have it rear facing right now behind the driver's seat and am able to sit in my normal driving position just barely. I am 5'9".

    2. Stock [or] Comfort Seats Comfort
    3. List Car Seat Model 2013 A7 Prestige
    4. Forward Facing [or] Rear Facing Rear Facing
    5. How well does it fit? Fits pretty well. Other reviewers mentioned that the Diono 3 RXT model is best suited for cars with sloping or bucket style seats. My kid looks a lot more comfortable in this seat compared to our other rear facing seat. Biggest drawback is the weight of the seat and how much room it requires for a proper install. The front passenger side feels cramped.

I have two kids so putting one in the middle won't happen. Do you think you would have any issues with the Britax Boulevard's forward facing OR rear facing if you moved it to the side? I think my biggest concern is any interference from the headrests.

Interesting. How do you think it will fit forward facing? Did you look at the Clek Foonf at all?

These seats all tend to fit easier forward vs rear facing. It fits just fine forward facing. I originally intended to get the Foonf instead of the Fllo but didn't for two reasons. First, it is taller. The Fllo is about the maximum height I would want rear facing as any taller would impinge into the front seat room behind the driver's seat at my seating position. I was also concerned it would block rearward visibility. Second, it has an odd rigid latch system that really cuts down on the number of cars that work with it. Particularly sports cars with rear buckets seem to have a hard time using the rigid latch system. You could bypass that and install with the seatbelt but then that defeats a lot of the purpose of the Foonf since one of the main things it offers over the Fllo is the rigid latch system.

I have a 2014 RS7 with 2 bucket seats (no middle) and this seat is by far the best I’ve had, and I’ve had a bunch! It is the same seat used by police and Uber drivers. I purchased a block of foam and used an electric carving knife to cut the block into a wedge so the seat sits flat and protects the leather. Hope this helps.

Fits perfectly on the side too. I had it there for awhile until I figured out how to get it in the middle. I'm only 5'8" so, not super sure about legroom for the driver. I can move it tonight and let you know how far back I can move the driver's seat. The installation on the britax seats is super simple...not that I have tons of experience with car seats but these things are awesome.

No, I move my Britax around from center to side and it more solid on the side.

Great insight. Have you ever posted pictures with the Clek Fllo installed?

I know it's not a 7, but I have the britax Boulevards and they work great and look and feel incredibly safe and sturdy. I have one rear facing in my S6 behind the passenger seat and you can still fit a full sized person in the front seat... Not spacious though

Still learning a lot when it comes to this stuff - but noticed the Britax Boulevard doesn't use the LATCH system. Is that better or worse?

    1. 2013 S6
    2. Stock Seats (quilted)
    3. Graco Contender 65
    4. Both front and rear facing
    5. It fit decently. When rear facing, the front seat had to be a little more vertical than I'd like, but there was still decent room on the front of the cabin. The base does not sit perfectly flat in the seat. I bought a somewhat rigid seat protector that helped it stay flatter on the seat.

I have used it with both the latch system and seat belt. I find the seat belt more convenient due to the limited space around the headrest for the latch hook. My hands cannot fit back there well.

Is it overly vertical because of interference with the head rest?

Not particularly. The headrest is just above the top of the carseat. The seat level was right in the middle according to the ball level indicator on the seat base. My daughter's head does tend to lean forward when she dozes off, but that happens in every carseat I've seen.

Anyone have seat covers to protect the back of the front seats? I have two front facing car seats and my kids are going to ruin the seat backs with their dirty feet.

I have the Brica Elite Seat Guardian and love it but would probably go with the Lusso Gear Seat Protector next time around because it has pockets to store all that shit kids need with them for all our sanity sake lol.

It uses the factory seat belts, just sandwiches it between the baby seat and the base of the baby seat. Hard to explain but it works fine and I like the point of using the factory seatbelts. I still get it nice and tight. FWIW Im on third one of these. Was rear-ended on two cars before the s6 and the seats were perfect after the crash. And one of them totaled my G37 sedan. I trust it

As I said earlier, check how the Latch system hooks into the car seat. The car seats we had there was a singular small screw that attached the LATCH belt to the car seat. We always used the shoulder belt.

I'll get some pictures too. It's been raining here and my car is in the driveway because I'm a horrible car owner and my garage is full of moving boxes atm. So, once it stops raining I'll go get it setup and take some pics.

The Boulevard can either use factory belts or it can use the factory anchors. Look for a reply from me sometime today or tomorrow I'll post pics with both mounting options.

Attached pictures of it installed on the driver side using the actual seatbelt from the car (this is the recommended method). I'm 5'8" and I'd say that the seat fits fine with where I have my seat normally positioned. I do not see too much extra room for the driver's seat to go back so if you're taller this may be an issue.

Another member also asked about LATCH. I added two photos showing how it looks installed using the built in anchors as well. The Boulevard comes with a mini seatbelt tucked away in the back that has latches on either end that you use to install it this way. The recommended and easiest method is using the built in seatbelt though.

    5. How well does it fit? - Fits well behind the passenger seat. Provides plenty of room for any passengers in the front seat (my boss is 6' 5" and fit just fine). I keep it behind the passenger seat so I am able to adjust my seat more freely. Just have to remind your passengers not to move their seat!

LATCH system on this seat is very secure. Steel framed and the harness is easily adjustable. This is our third seat of this model (one had to be thrown out after an accident in my wife's Armada). We shopped for few days to get our hands on nearly every make/model of car seat out there before coming back to the original one we had. It is also easily transferred between vehicles if needed. We are very happy with it.

I have 3 kids all spread out in ages. The best carseat is the one I just purchased. Fit and finish is very quality. Its heavy and sturdy. It sits very high which my son loves. Has great head protecion and the latches feel solid.

So I tried the Britax Boulevard. Front facing fit fine behind the driver, however the rear facing impacted the passenger a little more than I would like.

I'm looking for other recommendations outside of the Britax Boulevard and Clek Foonf.

Reviving this for any future or new parents, as I found it relatively helpful.

    1. List Year and Car Model: 2016 A7
    2. Stock [or] Comfort Seats: stock(standard)
    3. List Car Seat Model: Cybex Aton 2
    4. Forward Facing [or] Rear Facing: Rear facing
    5. How well does it fit? Fits great with an inch or two to spare for 5’ 11”or 5” 10” front seat occupants. I have to use a towel or pool noodle to get the right incline for my newborn who is 9 lbs, but otherwise awesome. I’ve got an Uppababy Vista stroller and there are adapters that allow us to snap the car seat right into the stroller as well.

Still rocking the Clek Fllo and loving it in both the Audi and the Tesla. Used it front facing in the NSX and that was slightly tight. And by slightly I mean it was crazy tight.

Good info here. Anyone try the Britax One4Life in an A7/S7/RS7? Dimensions say it's an inch larger than the Boulevard
