Hi, I have recently bought an 05 a4 convertible which was water logged as a project and have an issue with coding in new ccm module, it had a replacement in it and was told it was right one, ideally any help from someone who has vagcom/vcds who is near to me is much appreciated

    1. Be prepared to dump some logs to the screen.
Others need to be able to go over the logs in order to catch something you may not have.

    2. Is your VCDS cable a legal cable?
If so, you can get good help (not as good as Audizine IMHO) at the Ross-tech site forums as well.

I am no VCDS guru; so my help comes with a disclaimer.
Others will take over helping once you give them something to look at..

    What procedure are you using?
Is it on the net somewhere for common reference?

There's youtube, ross-tech and I'm sure plenty of threads in audi forums.
You can get this done on line.

From what little I am able to gather thus far, it appears that the 8HO959433M may be for the B7.

It may work, but I'm not sure yet.
    https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...-Replacing-CCM

Based on this above, you would (MAY) need B7 key remotes to make B7 CCMs work for you.
This can be a PITA and another level of fun learning that you may not want to deal with right now.

You also need to see what your key frequency is. It should be on the inside of the key, when you split it in half....you may find it on the original CCM as well.
And you need to see what the M CCM frequency is. It may be on the CCM itself.

Ok..so what isn't working in the coding process?
Can you see and read the ccm code in vcds?
    Channel 61 and 62

It also helps to know what your code was on your original ccm before you pulled it.

There is a very useful remote key match video link at the bottom of the above link.

    Special Notes
The 8E/8H platform comfort system module has assigned positions, like parking spots 1, 2, 3 and 4, for each remote. This is critical when matching new remotes.

If you are having problems with the Remote Control Matching, please pay special attention to the instructions above:
Make sure to TYPE IN the number instead of scrolling up to it, otherwise you will not be able to click [Test].

The ccm was in the car when I bought it and the original isn't in the car, I don't have access to vcrs as don't have a laptop, what isn't working is heater unit, indicators roof remote locking and lights in dash board

Ok...do you have a Haynes manual and have you checked fuses yet?

On the left of your dash, as you open the door, there is a hatch you can pry off.
It is your fuse panel. The fuse map should be on the back of the hatch cover.
I would start checking the fuses for stuff that is not working.

Also..did original owner fix the flooding problem that may have first caused this mess?
Sometimes the battery well fills during a rain and water gets in when the well drains are clogged. Those drains will need to be cleared. There are also drains from the sunroof.

I've replaced all fuses and theres power to ccm, leak has been done as it was the seal on window in roof had failed, it's a new battery.
I had doubts about replacement ccm but cant find out if it's the unit that should be in, my Audi garage wouldnt tell me just to bring it in and pay £700 to sort it

    ok
now everyone will get what is going on.
    the whole story.

And you don't want to pay money for a VCDS cable, software and laptop as yet.
    ok..

Unless you get a used CCM that is coded for the same features as your car, you are going to need to code it.
A new or used laptop with windows 10 and VCDS enthusiast (3 vin) package will cost you less than $700.

For someone to code your CCM would mean that they probably would have to eat a vin on their license.
Unless you can find someone with a pro (unlimited) license, you may have problems finding help.

You can wait to see who can help here.

I would also try a search on craiglist in your area or even put out an sos ad.

Also maybe get a less expensive quote via yourmechanic.com.
They are a mobile mechanic site; so they will come out to you.

If you don't have VCDS to code the part properly, you need a CCM out of a car with the same features as yours.
That way, the CCM will already be coded for you.

I don't know what sites you have available to you, but on US Ebay there is a seller called Wolf Auto.
You can contact that seller via EBAY and they might be able to get you a ccm, by your VIN, that will directly work for your car without having to (re) code it.

I've been doing some more research on my car, and it looks like a ccm with 8eo instead of 8ho might be better fit, I'm not that interested in getting roof working at the moment just gotten to the stage where I need it for test and on road
