Just curious if anyone here yet has fitted the Urus heads and turbos to their RS7 and if so, how big a difference did it make?

it's also a totally different 4.0T motor, sourced from Porsche.

Incorrect. It's a reworked RS7 engine. Larger turbochargers and better heads. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Urus

Of course but if you're looking to run 9's in an RS7, the Urus' turbos and heads might get you there.

That link also states the Panamera and RS7 use the same motor so I question its accuracy.

“the Urus is powered by a 650 PS (641 hp; 478 kW) 4.0 L twin-turbocharged V8, a modified version of Audi's 4.0 L V8.[7][8] This engine has application in other VW Group cars, including both the Porsche Cayenne and Panamera, as well as some of the Audi S and RS models”

I thought the Panamera had the v8 4.0l Turbo from about 2016?

Looking at some images of the 2017 Panamera engine, it is a similar design, however, very different.

Completely different accessory drive section, completely different turbocharger layout and design, completely different intercooler layout, and numerous other differences.

The Porsche 4.0TT engine is the one the C8 RS will use. I think Audi have decided that it's the better engine. I'm not sure how different the one in the Urus is.

To even further dilute this thread, I heard the C8 RS is getting the 2.9TT (v6) that's in the current Panamera turbo.

S6/7 not the RS6/7. This sounds like a v8 being tested in the C8 platform:

Confirmed today with the parts manager that the Urus turbos will bolt up to the RS7 and S6. They have larger compressor wheels and hot sides. The heads unfortunately won’t fit.

That's good to know, but I would hate to think what the price is. Probably better off going with some of the larger/cheaper turbo options currently out there.

Urus engine is a Porsche design and nothing carries over to the older 4.0TT.
Engine was first released in the 971 Panamera, then E3 Cayenne Turbo and Urus got it thereafter Panamera GTS and now the new 2020 S8 has a similar version of it.
