35% tint over factory tint (rear)

I have an appointment next week for tinting my rear windows. Strongly considering 35% tint over factory tint for rear windows. Anyone have photos of what this looks like? Or can provide feedback based on their personal experiences? My Q5 is black interior/exterior.

I have 5% over my rear / 20% on fronts, and it looks great.

I'd recommend if anything to even go 20% over your rear...

Pretty sure this is 35 over rears and 18 up front.
Plus windshield is 50 and another 30 on moonroof.
Can’t remember if we went 20 or 35 on the factory, but want to say 35.

how is the 50 on the windshield?? been thinking about doing this but worried about driving at night (especially in the snow where I live)... how has your experience been with driving with it at night?

Honestly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for numerous reason. One, everyone is a douchebag now and they drive around with high beams on constantly, and it helps not go blind at night due to their douchebaggery. Also, obviously it darkens the rest of the tint since there isn’t that huge unfiltered entrance for light anymore. The black leather interior is also vastly less hot now.

At night. I don’t notice it really. I have LED dogs that are decently bright (not douchebag bright). So really the only time the tint has even been noticed is when you’re in an area with poor street lights and it rains. But not bad at all.

I’ll never own another vehicle without the windshield tinted.

I'm sure you guys have already considered this, but I guess different states have different laws on tinting %.

My SQ5 looks pretty dark, not sure exactly what % since I bought it with the tints already on.

I just put 35% tints on my Honda civic and am nervous driving now because it looks really dark. I think 35% is the limit in CT for front side windows, rear windows can go darker and only top 6 inches of windshield can be tinted.

Like Dubgli said be careful of your state laws. In NY they wont let you pass state required inspection with tints on your windshield or front windows. You can probably find inspectors to do it but for me it wasnt worth the headache and possible ticketing. That being said they look great and do provide some nice benefits as stated above.

Absolutely true. I’m fortunate in that I know or have trained a large percentage of the police officers in my area. Veteran tags help with those that I don’t.
Here in TN we have no safety inspections either. So for me personally, the juice is definitely worth the squeeze.

I have 35 all around. Surprisingly it doesn't look that much darker in the back. Going to be doing windshield and roof in either crystalline 90 or air 80 shortly. Don't really wanna darken those windows, just get some heat rejection. Had air 80 on my last 2 cars for the windshield and loved it. Cuts down on glare but if you don't know it's there, you'd never see it

Next Tuesday, I have an appointment to tint the windows on my Q5 (Mythos Black Metallic) with black interior. The shop doing the work will using the 3M Color Stable tint film.
Prior to creating this thread, I was thinking of doing the following:

    Front Windows/Windshield: Leave as is
    Panaromic Sunroof: Leave as is
Rear Windows/Windshield: 35% tint over the factory tint

After doing some research online and watching videos. I am now thinking of doing this:

    Front Windows/Windshield: Leave as is
Panaromic Sunroof: 35% tint on both panels
Rear Windows/Windshield: 20% tint over the factory tint

Since I am not tinting my front windows, I feel 35% on the rear will not be dark enough considering the panoramic sunroof providing additional light.
