Lightbulb Has anyone put a Downpipe with a Test Pipe on A4 B9?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Afternoon.

I have a 2017 A4 B9; I am looking into Intercooler upgrade with a ECU Stage tune but at first I was going to install a new honey comb grill with the CTS Turbo Audi A4 (B9) Test Pipe and a Downpipe.( I believe the ECS downpipe has to delete a res) I never messed with cars before but I definitely don't want it super loud and annoying to people; or myself looking like a**. Has anyone installed a Test pipe with a Downpipe on their A4 and is that too much. Any recommendations... Or should I go for it and just add a Res or something to dampen the noise down the line if I think I overdo it.

    Best Regards,
    Davio

I'm trying to figure out the same thing, I've been watching youtube vids over and over trying to figure out how to get the best sound.
A nice deep grumble would be perfect nothing crazy loud like a lamborghini.
I think I'm gonna go 034 res delete and High flow cat see how that works.
    Also looking at this https://performancebyie.com/collecti...-systems/b9-a4
seems to have good sound nothing crazy.

If you guys want a great bolt on power mod with sound def 034 HFC, been running it over 1 year with great results. Skip any exhaust system behind it, the HFC will make a stock car faster and louder. Res delete will
add a little extra personality to the sound

Cool thanks for the info. I just have to do the APR tune when doing the HFC for the check engine light. So I guess I'll just do them all at the same time.

Are you sure that APR stage 1 deletes that CEL? I just got my car tuned and I’ve been thinking about adding a testpipe but I wasn’t sure...

Yep I spoke to the guys at APR like 2 weeks ago and he said the stage 1 will remove the cel.

I can add 0.02 cents by saying that a high flow cat alone will have a minimal sound increase to these 2.0t engines if you are sensitive to noise and worried about getting into trouble. A downpipe will help increase the sound, as well a cat back. The stock cat back is very quiet and keeps the sound down. However I have not tried a catless on the B9 A4 so I can't speak for that.

Our Revo A4 has seen a few different setups and stages, starting with the JHM HFC and downpipe which sounded neat, to now running the JHM HFC and CTS Cat back for a great sound.

Thanks for the info, I think HFC and downpipe will make good sound. I don't want the car to sound like it has a Lambo exhaust. Its still a classy looking car and a nice grumble to let people know its not stock is what I'm going for. Plus I have a nine month old that rides in the back LOL.
