    New s7 v6 or the older rs7 v8?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Next year be upgrading my a7, choice be the new twin turbo v6 s7 coming out, it has a modern interior, or I can get a low k current v8 rs7, the interior is not bad, I can live with it.

So for performance, I still think the older v8 rs7 has the edge.

    Any advice be great

    I own a V8T S6 and absolutely love it. If I were you I would go RS7 or any variant with the V8T. C7 > C8.

NZ is getting the petrol V6 then, rather than the diesel?

Yes only Europe gets the Diesel. Even if it were possible for me to get the Petrol variant, I would still get the previous model. I don’t know about people here but I don’t see any logic in buying a new or almost new S6/S7 which will lose so much value within the next 2 years. I paid 44k for my S6 Avant with 70kkm’s, almost fully loaded. A similar Avant of the new model would cost me about 100,6k. Personally I also don’t like the full touch stuff, the glossy panels will get fingerprints fast and get dusty as well. I would also get a 100hp downgrade as the diesel engine has just 350hp compared to my Avant which has 450.

I am not you but money-wise it’s a no-brainer. If you need/want the technology that the new model brings, then it might be a good choice. However, if you don’t need stuff like VC, all-touch panels and so on, you will get maybe even better experience with the V8T

It was a no-brainer for me. 605hp verses 450hp. V8 sound verses V6 sound. Buttons and knobs verses touch screen. Very cool front verses not so cool front (and ugly radar squares in the grill, if you go for active cruise). And, the RS7 has better seats, better handling, bigger wheels, better tires, but of course it's your call.

Was in this exact scenario, look at my signature. I think the older gen RS7's will hold value due to the V8 not being made anymore and it really sounds unreal. It's a monster.

It's the craziest car I've driven in stock form and I have had a lot of cars.

The RS7 wins the performance hands down. But if you don’t mind the quieter and slower S7 (and I don’t mean that as a joke, for daily driving nobody NEEDS an RS7- although many of us want one- and the s7 is plenty fast enough for most), then you should base your decision on the interior.

I do not like the new cockpit, so I would go with the c7.5 model for sure. I’d choose an old s7 over a new one, and an old rs7 over a new s7 is a no brainer for me.

I will honestly say the RS7 may be too much car for daily driving. I DD mine now and it's crazy. It's like the swiss army knife of cars.

    If I wanted the 'newer car' with a v6, I'd go with the RS5 v6tt before the S7 V6.

It just needs time and mods.

Anthony's is already looking pretty legit. Although I'm still glad I picked up the C7.5 while I could.

I'm a person who needs to fall in love with a car for what it is out of the factory, not what it can be. over time, cars can grow on u, painting a picture with mods to tweak it to ur liking sure. but nothing beats the love at fight sight. when they first revealed the 1st gen a7, i was like, WOW, if i ever need a sedan, that's THE one.

anthonys look good for sure, but it has no comparison to the feeling of seeing a c7/.5 7, even in stock form

Lol "too much" nah you get used to it. Scooting around in Dynamic mode will scare small children but other than that just fine as a daily driver

Just bollocks isn't it. I wonder if this would actually cause V8 RS6 and RS7 prices to increase in the short term?

One other thing to consider is these V6TTs are proving to be very difficult for tuners to unlock so that tuning can begin. Will be interesting to see how aftermarket support goes when the C8 S6/7 hit the market, I think the C8 A6 is a great looking car personally.

I had the option of buying the RS5 (2.9L) or the RS7. After driving both I couldn’t resist the sound of the V8 over that V6.

I had the choice of the new V6 RS4, wait for the V6 RS5 sportback, or the last new RS6. It turned out to be a very easy decision and no regrets.
