    4.0TT Limited Warranty Extension PCV

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It’s official. I got a letter in the mail today from Audi stating they are extending a warranty for 10 years or 120k miles for the PCV! Woohoo. There is also a reimbursement form for people who have already paid out of pocket for it. Just FYI.

They will reimburse whether it was done at an Audi dealership or independent shop.

I got my letter in the mail yesterday. Basically said to keep the letter if I ever have the part fail...At which time I'm sure Audi will deny it since my car was TD1 before I bought it, which was not disclosed by the Audi dealer.
Just hope it never fails I guess!

You should just be able to reference 'AWA 19-03 CCV extended warranty' per the dealer notice that I posted above. Doesn't sound like anyone has had trouble taking it in for the warranty work so far. I get mine back next Wed or Thurs...hard to be patient!

Got the similar letter from Audi Canada. Wondering how many RS7s actually had the issue. Mine is 5yrs old now and still haven’t had the issue. Wondering if I can just bring it in for them to replace as a preventative measure if I haven’t had the failure yet.

I sent off the letter with all my receipts for the purchase of parts and named myself as the mechanic that replaced them. We shall see how Audi proceeds. Even if they just gave me the cost for parts I would be happy.

I received my letter in the mail last week. I haven't replaced the parts but I have the OEM parts sitting in my basement as I was planning to do the PCV, oil screen and check valve as preventative maintenance. My car has a TD1 code unfortunately from a previous recall they had to fix. Do I need to wait until my turbos blow and get everything covered under the warranty, or do you think I can take it in and have them install the OEM parts I have at no cost to me? Wondering if it'd help to have an "friend" in the service department at a dealer or if I just have the work done at my indy shop, send the invoice into Audi USA and cross my fingers.

This is a warranty extension, not a recall. They will not pay for preventative replacement. If you are requesting reimbursement, your invoice needs to state the PCV/oil separator failed.

    2013 S6 here with 64k (APR Stage 1)

I got the dreaded squealing of death this week. Unfortunately I was out of town, and there was no APR dealer nearby to remove my flash. My best option was to get to the closest Audi Dealership. My car had not previously been flagged TD1, so I did qualify for the extended warranty on the PCV - until the warranty process required them to hook up.

Ok, so now I'm flagged TD1 and get to pay for the PCV replacement - quoted me $1800 for that. I then suggested while they were down there, we should replace the parts in the failed turbo TSB (turbo oil filter, gaskets, o-rings, etc) - as a preventative measure. Not too much more labor here, but they wanted a lot for the parts kit, so about $1200 more total.

Here is to hoping that these procedures will give me several years of life on my turbos! The mechanic I spoke with said most of the failures he has seen were very sudden - not gradual - I'm having them check the condition of mine while in there.

I got the squeal of doom on my new to me 2013 S8 about 2k km after I bought it from the dealer. I'm in Canada and am waiting to hear from Audi about this. I emailed their online customer care thing but haven't heard back yet. it's been close to a week I've been waiting.

They really only need to replace the check valve and oil screen with a couple of gaskets once they do the oil separator. What actual parts are they replacing for $1200?

That is probably accurate - both of those parts are listed in TSB 2044640 - along with a bunch of other o-rings, gaskets, and seals. Likely not necessary to replace everything. I was in a tough spot as I was on the road for work and couldn't really spend a lot of time arguing with them. I'll get the list of parts when it's all done...

Anyone yet received a resolution to their filed claim? I know it said it could take up to 60 days, but it would be nice to know when the claims start getting paid out, and if there are any weird denials or shenanigans.

Got my letter about a month ago. I had the part replaced by Audi about 2 years ago. cost close to $2400. Sent my letter back with everything they asked for and just received a check from Audi for the full amount! Way to go Audi! Love the S6 and will stay loyal to Audi for years to come.

That's great! I'm guessing that those who had the replacement done at the dealer might get their checks sooner than those of us who used an independent shop. Probably much easier to verify the issue and service performed...

The waiting game continues for me.

Well Audi got back to me. Cut me a cheque for $2840 CAD. I paid my indy shop $3150 for the repair because we did extra gaskets / o rings / hoses while we were in there (tech said some stuff was leaking)

Pretty happy. This money might go towards a APR Stage 1 tune on my S8, lol.

    Nice!

Just got my S6 back from the dealership today for the PCV service. All covered under the extended warranty and while they had it all torn apart, they did the turbo R&R for the screens, etc. for under $200...pretty happy with Audi right now...
