Scratching/Rubbing noise when turning steering wheel

A4 2009 2.0T - Scratching/Rubbing noise when turning the steering wheel. At low speed or stationary.

The dealership replaced the intermediate steering shaft and the steering is super smooth now but I hear the noise louder now.
So they decided to try replacing the Quattro-Steering Column 8K0419502AC - https://parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_200...0419502AC.html
Has anyone ever seen this part getting replaced?

Spray silicone lubricant on the universal ball joint. Turn the wheel all the way to the right and u can see it deep in the driver side wheel well. Reachable tho. U didnt need to replace any of that

Warranty is covering it. So it's "free"

I noticed there is an 8K0419502AA and a 8K0419502AC. Wish I could find the difference.

Good, at least u didnt have to pay. Spray some of that silicone lube, if u live somewhere that snows and they salt the roads, then the ball joint probably has a bit of oxidation on it. Quick fix.

I went under the car and sprayed two full cans of rust penerating lubricant and it helped a little but once they replaced the intermediate shaft it was a huge difference in sound and ease of turning.
I wonder what the Steering columb will change.

I had a similar issue with my car. Got both control arms replaced. Problem was solved for me.

I had a similar sound a few weeks back. It ended up being excessive gravel/debris that was stuck in the bottom cup of the helper springs on my driver side coilover. I took some load off the springs, cleaned it all out, re-adjusted the springs back and the sound was gone.

    Strangest fucking thing.
