    2001 Audi S4 Quattro 6MT

    VIN: WAURD68D51A096691

    Clean Title in Hand

    No Accidents

    Non-Smoker

    Asking Price: $18,500 OBO

Contact: 301-356-1702 initial contact via text is preferred because I typically ignore calls from numbers I don't recognize. DM'ing me on here is fine too.

Current Dyno Numbers: 384 whp and 484 ft lbs on 93 octane with tuning revisions still ongoing. Car is an awesome candidate for Tial 770's, GT28's, or a Big Single Turbo. I built the engine and the rest of the car with the intent of going xr770's, but priorities have changed so it's time to move on. Not that it matters but I have north of $40,000 in parts receipts for this thing, nevermind labor.

Miles on Chassis: 168,201 and Climbing

Miles on Built Engine: 8,501 and Climbing

    Exterior Color: Silver

    Interior: Black Leather

I have receipts and or pictures to backup all claims made.

    Engine:

    *** Block Labor:
-Prior to being pulled for this build the block held apr stage 3 power for 80k miles.
*** *** -Hot tanked and chemical stripped to remove grease and corrosion.
-Magnafluxed to check for cracks, specifically around main cap webbing.
-Bored to 83mm increasing displacement from 2.7L to 2.8L
-Honed to final size for desired piston to wall clearance of 0.0038”
    -Decked on both cylinder banks.
-Original crankshaft magnafluxed, checked for size, and journals polished.
-Pistons fit to rods and wrist pin clearance checked.
    -Piston rings gapped.
    -Entire rotating assembly balanced.
-Block painted with engine specific cast iron gray paint by machine shop.

    Block Parts List:
-It should be noted I’m not going to list out every single bolt, o-ring, gasket, and sensor that was replaced along the way. I have pages upon pages of receipts from the likes of ecs tuning and eeuroparts detailing all the small stuff that went into this build. Said receipts can be made available for any interested party to examine prior to purchase. Rest assured, nearly everything was new when this engine went together.
-JE Pistons 83mm 9.0:1 Compression Ratio
    -Pauter Machine Billet Connecting Rods
    -ARP Main Stud Kit
-Glyco Main Bearings yielding an oil clearance of 0.0031”
-Glyco Rod Bearings yielding an oil clearance of 0.0035”
-Glyco Thrust Washers. Crankshaft end play checked and verified to be in spec.
-Oil Sprayers Retained for Piston Cooling
-New OEM Audi Oil Pump, Chain, and Tensioner
    -ARP Head Studs
    -RS4 Engine Mounts
    -Fluidampr Crankshaft Pulley

    Fuel System:
*** -E85 Compatible Walbro 450 in tank pump that is relayed and powered straight from the battery.
*** -Injector Dynamics ID1050x fuel injectors
    *** -Stock fuel pressure regulator
*** -New OEM Fuel Level Sending Unit

    Exhaust System:
*** -ASP 3” Downpipes. These were originally catted downpipes, but I removed the cats to be able to play with anti-lag. I saved them and they can go with the car if the new owner wants to have them re-installed.
    *** -Vibrant TurboFlex Couplings
    *** -3” Marman Flanges
*** -Borla Cat-back System with the Resonator and Tail Muffler. This system originally necked down to the factory exhaust pipe diameter of 2.25”. I cut that portion out and tig welded in a 3” Y section with extensions to connect up to the 3” downpipes. Marman flanges were used to make the connection. So now from the turbo(s) back is all a minimum diameter of 3”. I have pictures with the car up on a lift showing the underside. **
*** *** -New OEM EGT sensors. Their functionality is retained in the tune the car has
right now, but they could just as easily be coded out.

    Transmission and Drivetrain:
*** -01E professionally rebuilt 57k Miles ago with an advanced automotion (Scotty) kit that included the updated 1-2 collar, bearings, and all synchros/seals. It shifts about as good as I think anyone would expect an 01E to shift. No problems to report. I’ve always used Fuchs Titan Sintofluid in it.
-Raxles Front Axles 3k miles ago.
    -Original Stock Rear Axles
-Stock Rear Differential. I use the same Fuchs fluid in it.
    -Stock Shift Linkage.
-Ringer Racing Stage 4 Cerametallic Clutch 3k Miles ago
-Ringer Racing Billet Steel Flywheel 3k Miles ago
-Ringer Racing Stock Style Throwout Bearing 3k Miles ago
-New OEM Slave Cylinder 3k Miles ago
    -Stock Driveshaft
-Stock rear differential mount filled with 3m window weld. Ended up being a really nice compromise between the famous stock mount audi clunk when shifting and the vibration associated with the poly diff mounts.
    -New OEM Transmission Mounts

    Suspension:
-Unless noted otherwise all suspension components were installed at 153k miles.
    -Koni Sport/Koni Yellow Adjustable Shocks
    -Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs
-Rust Free rear upper shock mounts from a California car.
    -Lemforder Front Upper Control Arms
-Lemforder Front Lower Control Arms (Forward and Rearward) **
-Lemforder Front Sway Bar End Links
    -Front Sway Bar Bushings
    -Stock Front Sway Bar
-Hotchkis Upgraded Rear Sway Bar with Subframe Reinforcement Kit
-New Wheel Bearings on all four corners.
-Lemforder Inner and Outer Tie Rods & new bellows boots 9k miles ago

    Brakes:
*** -The 18Z front calipers, girodisc pads, and girodisc rotors were all installed 100 miles ago. Calipers were purchased used from wolfautoparts and reconditioned.
-Brembo 18Z Front Calipers in Silver with Black Brembo Decals
*** -Girodisc Two Piece Slotted 350mm Rotors
    *** -EuroBraking Caliper Bolt Kit
    *** -Girodisc Magic Pads
*** -ECS Tuning 18Z Caliper Brake Line Kit
*** -Passenger rear caliper replaced with a new TRW unit at 153k miles due to being seized solid. The driver side was fine.
*** -Pagid rear brake pads at 153k miles
*** -Brembo rear brake rotors at 153k miles
*** -New Brake Master Cylinder at 153k miles
*** -Handbrake works as designed, which is a whole lot better than the one in my e46 bmw. People who have owned e46’s will understand that joke.

    Wheels/Tires:
*** -Car will come with two sets of wheels plus one full size spare. Nine wheels in total. All wheels are the oem 18x8 BBS CH from a B7 S4.
-The summer set is finished in dark hyper silver and has 225/40-18 continental extreme contact sport tires with 7-8/32” of tread depth left. No curb scrapes or any flaws for that matter to be noted.
-The winter set is finished in gloss black powder coat and has 225/40-18 bridgestone blizzak ws80 snow tires mounted. The tires have one season of use on them so I’d estimate 9-10/32” tread depth. They’re in my storage unit right now otherwise I’d go measure them. No curb damage or scrapes on this set either, but there are maybe 6-10 small rock chips between the four wheels.
-The ninth wheel is the original silver and currently located in the spare tire area in the trunk. It does have a curb scrape which is why it’s the spare.
-ECS Tuning 15mm wheel spacers on all four corners
-All the wheels are straight and true, no bends or cracks.
    -VW Lug Bolt Covers

    Body/Exterior:
-Sport package aluminum housing mirrors with auto dimming. Mirror glass is in good condition. Just replaced the passenger side mirror glass two months ago because the fluid leaked out of it.
-Windshield replaced when I got the car and is still free of cracks/chips.
-No exterior body modifications to note.
-New S4 trunk badge that went on shortly after I got the car. *
-Car is in good shape for it’s age. I think the pictures show that, but it’s not without flaw. It has the typical paint chips and dings you’d expect to find on an 18 year old car. There’s a scuff on the passenger side of the rear bumper that was filled in with touch up paint. Same thing with the door moulding on the drivers side front door and also a spot on the bottom of the front bumper on the drivers side. I’ve tried to keep any paint chips that pop up filled with touch up paint. I get plenty of compliments on how the car looks, especially when people find out how old it is.
-Paint was coated with Carpro Cquartz in December 2018.
-New OEM windshield wiper transmission Sept. 2018

    Interior:
-Seats are in good shape, no tears or rips in the leather. ***
    -Armrest is good too.
-Seat heaters are pretty much useless for their intended purpose. They get hot in a few select spots but not enough to really do much.
-Has typical b5 s4 headliner sag.
-Some fingernail marks on the soft touch paint on the interior door handles
-Woodgrain trim on the doors and dash but I replaced the hazard surround trim and the shifter trim with the sport package black trim.
-Pixels in the gauge cluster center display are partly dead.
-Dual gauge pod on the steering column. Left side has an aem x-series wideband that reads from the passenger downpipe and the right side has a podi boost gauge.
-I put in a new in dash cup holder when I got the car.
-Factory audi radio with a blitzsafe aux cable box.
-Sunroof works if you open and close it incrementally. I never used it beyond checking to see if it worked when I got the car.
    -No water leaks.
-Complete factory jack tool kit in the trunk.
-Cold weather package car so it has the ski bag that comes out from the rear seat armrest. I know that’s a very important feature to nearly none of us.
-Tint job on the rear windshield isn’t the greatest but I wasn’t going to rip it off because the rear defroster still works.
-Has the audi all weather floor mats front and rear.
    -RS4 perforated leather shift knob
-Driver and passenger power seats work in all directions
-Glovebox soft open feature still works
-All windows work and so does the one click up and down function.
    -Central Locking System Works
-Key Fob Lock and Unlock Works
-No Check Engine Light. Hasn’t had one since the bugs were ironed out in the beginning.

Nice build, however get ready to part it because the mooches on here will never step up to that kind of coin, either by inability or having the everything for nothing attitude.

Build Gt 3.0's go barely above 10-12 g's.....unfortunately.

So rip it apart and probably get more than 18.5 in parts.

Glws, the cars that have been
loved like this should fetch more.
I hope you get your asking. Idiots
on here say the built motor isn’t
    a selling point.

Anyways I hope you don’t have
    to hear too much BS.

Your not looking at the big picture. Sure anyone looking for a 3k to 8k b5 wants a shitbox that has no maintenance receipts, leaks oil from everywhere, is straight garbage.
Build this car the way he did. I I garuntee you spend 6 months plus. If u pay someone else its gonna cost u like 20k in parts and labor alone easy. Someone who wants a documented build this is it. Everyone always claims "built motor" or "fully built" or even if they are they dont have documentation. This is huge. Your not buying something your taking someones word for. Perfect candidate for this car is someone around the age of 35-45 who is looking for a weekend car. They had the drive and want for this s4 when theybwere younger and didnt have 40-55k to buy one new. Now they can get a revised version with 200more whp for a fraction with suspension glorious bbs wheels and a full documented list of the build. Its not a for everyone car. Yes u can get a 180k stage 3 car with no documents put together with 40k ko4s and random parts for 5-10k depending on color and condition. But nothing to this extent. In California where im from these things are rising in value quite a bit. Theres a buyer for everything. Will it take some time to sell? Maybe? Probably. But whomever gets this is gonns be happy they dont have to wrench in it and its readt to go.

There a big difference between a well built stage 3 where the person, like the OP, took a lot of time and care to build something great, that would last. This is the opposite of “how much HP can I get for how little money”-instead it’s “how well can I build this car?”.

I think the turbos being K04’s are incidental. What I mean by that is 1) sure, someone might like to see something bigger at this price point, but on the other hand 2) the block has been less stressed and you get to pick your own.

Let’s say TTE780’s; or you pick some other cool turbo. So you get some inlets, downpipes and call it good. Maybe dual fuel pumps maybe not. Regardless, for 21k you have a basically fresh monster S4.

On any other platform builds like this go for minimum 15-20k or much more depending on the car.

If I were shopping for a nice S4 this would be near the top of my list. None of this cobbled together b-s, car puts out 700whp @52 psi with cracked manifolds and smoke blowing out of every vacuum leak (and there are many). But it’s got an RS4 front bumper (still primer grey) so heeeeey....

If I were you I would more or less stick to your price which is fair. If someone can afford a 12k S4 they can afford a 15k.

You should consider taking the time to put this up on BAT, where you’ll find people with the coin to appreciate this sort of attention to detail, parts list, and documentation. Not that there aren’t people who appreciate such things here, but it seems like a better place to get the kind of money you’re looking for.

Great dream parts list btw—if I run into a some more money I’ll do the similar things to the silver Avant I just picked up 😁

If I didn't like wrenching as much as I do, had a bit more disposable income, and didn't already have my B5 S4, I'd be all over this for his asking price.

Yup, I'm late 30's, wanted one bad in the early 2000's but obviously couldn't afford one, and can appreciate a well built car when I see one.

This is a very very clean car with tasteful mods. I find myself coming back to this for sale ad often to check it out.

Thank you all for the kind words, I was honestly expecting to find a lot more negativity than what's here. lebrondog6 and csobel

I hadn't considered BAT. I will look into that as an option.

I'm not opposed to paying a finders fee if someone leads a buyer to me that follows through and purchases the car.

It's so refreshing to see a great example of b5 S4 ownership. Nice job on all the blood, sweat, and tears that have gone into this, and GLWS. Would be a damn shame to part it out.

Thank you! I'll put it out there now because a few have mentioned it, the car is definitely not going to be parted out. I'll gladly keep it before I do that.

    Much appreciated!

You know sometimes you overlook the simple things. Why I didn't post it in the vehicle classifieds to begin with is beyond me. I think I was laser focused on the B5 section and just completely forgot.

Very impressive build and a good ad. If I didn´t have my current B5 I would definitely consider this one.

Nice car! Love the detailed ad. 34yr old adult here. Just paid 18k for a built avant. Wanted to build one, but would have cost triple that to achieve what I wanted.
