Does anyone know how to fix this?

System was refilled with gas, ECON light still on. (No air conditioning) We are getting 20+ C here, sweating...IMG_20190523_080040.jpeg

First check and make sure your high pressure sensor is plugged in. Next check the wiring to the plug and make sure it is in good condition. If all that checks out replace the switch.

I checked my valve, is cracked on the side.
The valve in my car looks like pic 1, a bit golden metal.
    1594964.jpeg

I took the part number to local shop and they gave me one like pic 2, longer nose, silver metal. It does not fit as its too long, it does not reach the valve to activate it, I was thinking to cut it shorter but I found that even the thread outter diameter is also different.
    Air-Condition-Pressure-Sensor-Switch-For-Skoda-Fabia-Octavia-Rapid-Roomster-Yeti-VW-Amarok-Cadd.jpeg

They dont have any other type, I cant find anywhere else.

    How is this possible?
Why would they make something that doesnt fit but matching part nr.

I see your dilemma. When I enter the part number I find conflicting information. Apparently the part number you have has been superceded with a different configuration. I found a used direct replacement for yours. Clicky clickŪ

You will probably have a hard time finding a new exact replacement that hasn't been superseded. I guess the good news is that it isn't a part with a high failure rate so used should be OK.

I'm having the same code from VCDS. Can the sensor be removed without recovering the r134a? Also, can you access it by just taking out the driver side headlight like in the picture?

    Premature celebration from me...
ECON light is off now, but the coolness of the air didn't change. No difference between Aircon on or off. I expected ice cold air.
    Ideas?

You may just need to add a little refrigerant. I have had to top mine off three times in the past 16 years. Still works fine now.

The system supposed to be filled up by the shop where the sensor error was diagnosed.
Basically they said they topped up the refrigerant but when they realised the ECON button is still on, they connected diagnostics and it came up with sensor error. As the Aircon still wasn't functioning they didn't charge me anything.
Now I have no clue if they actually refilled it or not.
    Any ways to check?

Also, is it normal that I hear something turning on under the bonnet when I turn Aircon on? It sounds like a little motor, maybe the pump? It's not crazy loud, but you can separate the engine sound from this. I'm thinking if the pump could be faulty?

I bought the car last year October, it's cold around here, didn't really use Aircon until now, so I'm not even sure if it used to work before.

Otherwise air blows properly hard in cabin at both on/off settings.

Can you get ahold of a set of A/C manifold gauges? That will be the best way to determine the problem. There are several different sets on Amazon that are relatively inexpensive. Clicky clickŪ

Wow, it looked a bit complicated at first glance..

Yes, I could get a set, what's the plan?
It's also usable to top up the system right?

Another great debate on this diy recharging the ac issue.

IMO, if the system has been charged enough for the compressor to take a suction, you can just refill it with a cheap kit...and save yourself some cash.
the system has already been charged, shut itself down and has probably still got enough refrig for the system to still be "primed."

Others will have you buying gauges, ac tanks and the works...

I say buy a cheap kit and see how it goes..youtube is your friend.

Also, I think ?herko? sells the old style non-superceded style sensors..

I had an ac shop charge my new system up and they removed my oring on that same sensor..hoping for return business..no doubt.
Well I found it and just charged the system with a kit from Wally world.

    I see.
The price of a recharge kit is the price that a shop would charge here in UK for refill.

I'm 100% sure that I wouldn't wanna buy more and more stuff...
    I'm a bit confused now...

I reused that o ring, hopefully doesn't leak.
The shop I mentioned above said there are no leaks...

If you think it's just low on refrigerant you can top it off with a recharge kit> Clicky clickŪ That's what I have been doing.
