    AWE Track Edition Exhaust question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a 2016 S3 Stage 1+ Uni & DSG with a resonator delete kit install. Sticking with a Stock Downpipe.

If I went with the AWE Track Edition Exhaust, any issues installing it since I already have the resonator removed? I saw pics of the exhaust and it looks like the system deletes the resonator as well so I assume it would just bolt up easily? . I am also wondering if its that much of an upgrade in sound over my current setup? I mean, at the end of the day, the only thing changing is the muffler itself. Do any companies just sell the muffler?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

There will be no issues. I made the same change from resonator delete to AWE track catback. The AWE catback would replace through the stock resonator if it was there. It is a massive difference in sound going from res delete to AWE track. I stayed with that setup for a couple months before adding an IE downpipe. Once the downpipe was on I had to add a resonated because the DP/Catback combo was way too loud and raspy.

I was also looking at the Borla S Type but the dont offer Black Tips.

How's the AWE on part throttle vs the Res Delete? Did you also have the exhasut flaps open all the time?

There are no exhaust flaps with the Track version, you need switchpath for that. And its a lot louder, even on partial throttle. I only have one sound clip, https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo7Jtj1F..._web_copy_link

Do you have to disable the exhaust flaps with an OBD11 not to get an error code then?

No, it ships with a harness to plug in that will keep codes from popping.

Before you put the down pipe on, did you get any drone? Any issues with passing emissions with this setup?

There was some drone with the windows down, not enough to be annoying though. Emissions shouldn't be a problem since you're not messing with the cat or O2 sensors at all, but I don't know all the state laws.

Installation is very straight forward, it takes us around 1 1/2 hours with being very critical on tip fitment. For anyone still on the fence, we have both the Track and Switchpath in stock ready for same day shipping

    Makersmark,

Is there a downpipe I can add that wont make it too loud or raspy and won't be an issue come inspection time? I know you can get them with Cat/Catless Etc.

You can get a downpipe with a cat and if it's still too loud you could always add a bottle type resonator

The AWE downpipe has a no CEL gaurantee, theres probably a few other that offer the same. Catless is louder than catted. I have IE catted DP and had to add a resonator like ralphie said. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
