Hello all, sharing my feedback from a recently purchased Aeroforce Interceptor Gauge.
I've had a P3 gauge with the track pack since purchasing my S4, and although I really liked the placement and functionality, it was always annoying to have to switch between screens to see the different parameters I wanted to see (not to mention needing the external boost sensor to see accurate boost). Since I recently switched to methanol injection and a higher timing tune, I was constantly switching between Boost, Timing, and IAT (not to mention checking my ethanol content, if I used any).
After reading some other reviews, and reaching out to Todd at Aeroforce, I was hooked realizing I could see 4 values at once. I purchased the gauge and his gauge pod for next to the Nav screen. Unfortunately, the pod only worked for S5's and is different for the S4 (if you have an S5 I would highly recommend the pod, it looks awesome). Not wanting to waste any time, I mounted the gauge myself in the location I wanted. It required a bunch of measuring, drilling two holes for the threaded gauge posts to go through to secure the gauge and dremeling another hole for the wires to go through. Seriously, including removing the bezel this can be accomplished in a very reasonable hour.
Once mounted, I hooked my existing Str8shot ethanol content signal wire up to the analog input and plugged the OBD2 plug in. That's it. Gauge fired up. I had to configure some things to see what I wanted, but the functionality is awesome. You can turn the fans on through the gauge (which is awesome for the staging lanes at the drag strip combined with the pump mod to cool IATS), you can graph values, set it to cycle values, or set 1, 2 or 4 values to display on the screen at one time. There is also a suite of performance monitors you can use (0-60, 60-130, etc), along with flashing lights for whatever value you want to configure (rev limiter, high IAT's, whatever) It is plenty fast, and I'm noticing almost negligible lag with 4 values displayed. Also, the boost values as ACCURATE through the OBD2 port with this gauge, no external sensor needed.
I will say, the ability to watch everything I need all on one gauge has been amazing. I thought it may be hard to read given the screen size, or multiple values, or placement, but this has not been the case at all. I'm really really happy with this gauge.
I know people write reviews and never list the negatives, so I will share the only two things I dislike. If you wear polarized sunglasses the gauge is very hard to see with them on. Also, the mounting options for actual gauge placement in this vehicle are slim to none. Your only real options are to mount it like I did (which I think turned out super nice), buy the pod from Aeroforce which only works for an S5, or buy the defroster vent from Aeroforce which I'm not sold on. The ECS vent pod only fits small gauges (realized that after ordering it, whoops), and nobody else makes another vent pod. So, if you have an S4 and are OK drilling a couple holes in your dash bezel, this is the gauge for you!
