I also run 245 40 20 for my summers currently. I was able to source some Pzero Silent tires in this size alone.

@allenzhang215, what type of snow tire do have in this size 245/40r20? Have you been happy in deeper snow and ice?The 265/30r20 size only has a couple of choices on tire rack as of right now. Maybe as winter gets closer, there will be more options. Everything I see seems to be “high performance winter” and would just like “winter” tires got better deep snow and ice traction here in South Dakota. I don’t care about the performance aspect.

I'm running BLIZZAK LM-32 which is under performance winer/snow category. I'm really happy with the tire when it snows, got a lot of fun.

That tire is a full 1" taller than the factory sized 255/35/20. For comparison when you're speedo is reading 60mph with the new tires, you will actually be going 57.85mph. Nothing crazy and it will help fill the wheel well gap but you need to be aware of the changes that will occur.

Try some Nokian’s. You could go with the Hakka R3 studdless or the 9 with studs.

Thx @gk1. I looked around. The Hakka r3 seem a little difficult to find. Have you used the Hakka r3 in the 265/35r20 size or 245/40r20?
@mvr 255. I think the 245/40r20 is a little over .4 taller, as my tire size is 265/35r20, not the “255/35r20” you mentioned in your post.
