Post P0491 Brought to "Audi" dealer, Audi techs or Adviser pls help.

So I am making this post to see if anyone can help me make sense of what happened when i brought my 2014 Audi S4 with 107k miles to Fathers and Sons here in MA. Im going to make a list of the events that happened.

-Check engine light on p0491 (only code in system)
-Diagnosed as needed Secondary air injection cleaning ( i approved quoted 1150$)
-Tech notes are as follows for repair order 1-
    Attachment 119157

-From reading tech notes it work appear that he did the sec. air cleaning, put vehicle back together thinking it was fixxed, retested and same code appeared again.
-then tech put that he performed egr ports cleaning that was not discussed with me and then retested and code still present.

At this time i was told by the adviser the car is ready to be picked up even tho clearly tech knew it was not fixed.

    - next day the check engine light came back on i did not scan it (stupid on my part) made appt. to be brought into dealer again.
-Dropped of car Monday night, Wednesday at noon received call saying it needs a egr/kombi valve. which makes me think the valve was bad from the beginning and the actual problem for the check engine light.
Also on the phone the service manager said that there was another code that somehow randomly came on after they worked on vehicle, assured me its covered under an extended warranty.
    Attachment 119158

-So after arguing with the very rude service manager they stated they would charge me just $700 which was parts only he wouldn't charge me for labor. I had already seen Audi's msrp for the valve was 264$ meaning they were going to charge me double
if not more then what audi recommended price is. So i called him out he assured the pricing is correct. After not having my car for almost 2 weeks, i didn't want to wait anymore so i approved the work because i just wanted to get it over with and need to be able to pass mass inspection.
When service manager calls me to pick up vehicle stating it was completed, he stated that he was able to do it for less and the price came to $500 meaning that they 100% had marked up parts even more. So when i picked up my vehicle i looked at the repair order they have a "tube" billed to me on line 1
that is 100% related to the "warranty work" and was never told anything about having to pay for a tube for a code that only came on after they worked on the vehicle.

So overall i posting this to see if any Audi mechanics can shed some light on what happened. Is this normal series of repairs or do you think it was misdiagnosed, and could there be any coincidence between the nvld pressure switch and tube being related to original repair. They justify the sec. air cleaning as the system was full or carbon but if the kombi valve was bad to carbon build up why wouldn't they recommend the other one or even warn about the over kombi valve, i feel that the kombi valves diaphram was bad from the beginning and was the original bad part and i got scammed by the dealer that did not want to rectify there misdiagnoses. As of right now the light is off but the vehicle has not gone through a cold start so i'll find out tomorrow morning if its really fixed or not.

Just to clarify the p0492 never appeared on my vehicle only the p0491 for Bank 1.

Thank you in advance to anyone that has any info that may help me when i talk to the Dealers owner.

Also just to add vehicle never had any performance issue aside from the little bit of rough idle on cold start.

yikes that's quite the unfortunate series of events. I live in western ma and have driven by fathers & sons before, but choose to continue driving right by, as I have heard other stories like this. I choose to drive the extra 1.5hrs to bring my s4 down to Valenti audi in CT, where I bought it from, and have had nothing but pleasant, courteous experiences with their service dept and sales for that matter. good luck OP

the tube is the air supply to the leak detection pump and comes with a filter. This is the system that pressurizes the fuel evap system to check for leaks - unrelated to the SAI. The whole assembly with tube can be bought for about $60. (Google the part number). There may be an extended warranty on the the switch that is part of this system that the tech replaced (part G400). Here is an extended warranty letter

    https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...witch-2911383/

Ask the dealer if the tube and filter assembly is covered by the extended warranty.

Neither the SAI fault or the evap system fault would have caused an issue with driveability or performance. They are purely emission related. BTW, the SAI system clogging also has been covered under an extended warranty for some model years if the fault for is present for both banks.

Yeah and 2 days after picking up the vehicle the check engine light is back on with the same exact code P0491.
