Why?
There's a few key reasons people call it a Lamborghini motor, let's talk about them.
The main reason being it's fundamentally identical to the 5.2 V10 40v FSI that was put in several lamborghini models... to be precise they are the Gallardo LP560-4, the Huracán LP610-4 and audi's R8 of course.
This is the main reason people claim oh its a lambo motor. Well... Pretty much because it is. We aren't talking about the " Oh lambos came with a 5.0, and they made it bigger for the audi" No.... There was an identical long block motor in the lambos from the factory.
Now, I get it. It was actually developed for the Audi C6 S6 First.... But, when Audi's engineers developed the 5.2 V10 for the LP560-4 and Huracan LP610 and R8 they took the same motor, and did a few things to it. Unfortunately for the R8 they detuned it...
Sure, theres a few differences in the motors but not really enough to get upset over the claim in my opinion. But then again, who cares.
Just discussion here but Im curious you're stance. Is it because it was first developed for the S6 then put in the lambos? Or because the small differences like intake manifolds etc... ( Which really are different on every model )
Sure it has different engine codes, but they're in different cars of course it's a different engine code.
lol, My 2006 Audi A6 Hi-res screen is the same part number for the lambos. The cars share parts... it's the same manufacturer.
