    No flooding over here.
Car was rear ended up East. I bought it to put the engine in my S4 avant but decided to go another route.

Wish people would stop calling these V10s a lamborghini motor.

    Why?

There's a few key reasons people call it a Lamborghini motor, let's talk about them.

The main reason being it's fundamentally identical to the 5.2 V10 40v FSI that was put in several lamborghini models... to be precise they are the Gallardo LP560-4, the Huracán LP610-4 and audi's R8 of course.

This is the main reason people claim oh its a lambo motor. Well... Pretty much because it is. We aren't talking about the " Oh lambos came with a 5.0, and they made it bigger for the audi" No.... There was an identical long block motor in the lambos from the factory.

Now, I get it. It was actually developed for the Audi C6 S6 First.... But, when Audi's engineers developed the 5.2 V10 for the LP560-4 and Huracan LP610 and R8 they took the same motor, and did a few things to it. Unfortunately for the R8 they detuned it...

Sure, theres a few differences in the motors but not really enough to get upset over the claim in my opinion. But then again, who cares.

Just discussion here but Im curious you're stance. Is it because it was first developed for the S6 then put in the lambos? Or because the small differences like intake manifolds etc... ( Which really are different on every model )
Sure it has different engine codes, but they're in different cars of course it's a different engine code.

lol, My 2006 Audi A6 Hi-res screen is the same part number for the lambos. The cars share parts... it's the same manufacturer.

Lets not get into it too hard on OPs thread lol, it has been discussed at length elsewhere.

The bore and stroke is about the only thing the same. The Gallardo 5.2 block itself is Alusil lined cylinder bores and the audi s6 V10 5.2 is straight Aluminum iirc. Then you got metal thermostat hsg, high rev heads, different degree cams to rev to 8500, forged rods and pistons, high revving IM, etc.

Then, we have contradictory information where they sell sleeve kits for the lambo V10:
    http://www.titanmotorsports.com/lamb...o-sleeves.html

So is the 5.2 Gallardo Alusil or is it sleeved? I dont know. I do know that the s6 is neither (could be wrong here also lol)

From what I have learned, the block itself is different along with everything else. There is no physical way to make an S6 engine put out 600 hp w/o built internals, heads, and high revving.

I would love to put a gallardo motor and 6mt into my s6 and rev that bia to 8.5K, really pump out some power :)

I officially call it a "gallardo style block dialed down to only 450 hp" Tomato Toma'to

I gave up trying to find the exact differences...
