Why do you want to disable? I had an issue with my bulb constantly going out and once I pulled it and finally corrected the prongs it hasn’t gone out.

I have led lights and the resistor went bad again, so I’m in to see if this works

I am going to try this over the weekend, didnt know there was a defeat. Also going to try the same for the reverse lights disable. I dont think the fog lights have one available, but will keep searching.

LED bulbs, i tried some supposed can-bus error free but the resistor and heat sink on them got hotter than i liked (and was not error free) I have some sylvania ZEVO Leds in now that are the right brightness and color, but still give errors i want to eliminate.

I have every rear bulb in my MK4 TDI stop/turn/tail/reverse/license switched to LEDs, no fast blink, no flicker, no issues, why can't it be that simple lol.

I think this vagcom method only works for the b8 platform.

I'm thinking this too, otherwise there would be a definitely answer on this already, but I'll give it a go nonetheless.

Here’s an idea. Throw the LED plate lights away and just run the standard bulbs. Problem solved.

Who needs super bright plate light bulbs anyway? 🤣

Someone replied in a B7 section post with this:

I've sent a PM to try and confirm this was indeed on a B7, but it's also not the only instance i've seen of people reporting it. My previous B7 with halogen headlights didn't throw bulb out errors so there's got to be some way to get the coding to not look for it.

Im afraid that post is probably not applicable to the B7, despite being in a b7 thread. That member has only posted 5 times, 4 of which were in relation to the Q5, which is also the car he indicates as owning in his forum profile. So that method likely worked for his Q5, which is the "b8" platform.

I bought the kufatec harness with integrated resistors, however i haven't installed it yet. I am replacing the two individual resistors that i wired in years ago which have never skipped a beat. The resistors were mounted inside the liftgate.

    https://www.kufatec.com/en/all-produ...-a3-8p-39298-1

When i get around to installing this harness, I will report back about how much heat it generates.

I run THESE from deautokey. It's the full housing so it's more than just the bulb. No codes or errors in both my B6 and B7. Pricey but work and look good.

OP, if you want error free led license plate lights go to kufatec’s website and purchase the harness with resistors built into it and the Audi oem led assemblies. Guaranteed to work and as close to own as you’ll get.

Just tried it, channel 192 does not exist. Only channels 0-99 were available on my 2006 B7 Avant. Of the available channels within 0-99, none controlled any light canbus action.
