    Exhaust Tips Maintenance Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi folks, curious to what you guys use to keep your exhaust tips clean and void of any of that carbon build up. I have always used some simple soft scrub, but curious to see what other folks use and how often they do it.

Blue Magic metal polish works great: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Magic-40.../dp/B000BO8Z9I

Previous car was catless with an AWE exhaust and the tips would become black between washes. Blue Magic polish would make them look like new.

I started out taking very deliberate and careful care of the tips...cleaning and polishing every chance I got. Used Collinite 850 Metal Wax. Even then they still started to pit and the upkeep was just as bad as the stock brake dust. Finally Plastidip sprayed them black and was done.

I've tried several things but i like soft scrub to clean them and mothers to shine them.

Another vote for Eagle One Never Dull cotton wadding polish...... Easy to use and works really well!!!! Flitz metal polish works really well but it's not nearly as easy to use.

I use Wheel Whoolies every other car wash on my AWE black tips. Small brush around the exterior pipes and big one the insides.

Once you get them cleaned up with any of the above products, put some protection on them every few months and it will make future cleanings so much easier. Any of these products below help reduce carbon buildup. They work good on wheels and exhausts for added protection.

Flitz and Never Dull are my favorites. Flitz takes just a small dab to do the job.
