Ignition Timing - Please help me understand if this is normal

Playing around with logging. Not really sure what I'm doing. The thing that caught my eye was " Ignition timing advance for #1 cylinder (deg)"

I went on a 40 minute ride and saw numbers that jumped all over the place. There was a max of 39.5 and a min of -20.5. Sometimes I can see spreads that large within a second of each other. IS this normal? Thanks so much for anyone that logs this stuff and can help explain to me.

Ignition advance it largely based on how much load is on the engine, boost levels, intake air temps, octane... etc. So, yes what you are seeing is normal.
