What is going price for replacing A6 3.0 battery at deaker? Mine is a little under 4 years old in hot climate, and was thinking of being proactive. Still have warranty and extended warranty, so prefer to have done by dealer. Thanks

Does the dealer pay for the battery? I bought an Interstate AGM battery for $315, installed myself.

The AGM battery can be acquired for around $180 at Autozone. I did this replacement in my b8 S4. Just change the serial number right most digit with the VCDS (Vagcom).

Dealer probably won’t cover the battery

I'm thinking of changing my battery later on this year...
I've always wanted to own a red top or yellow top 'Optima' battery but instead,
I'm most likely going to invest in a NorthStar Ultra High Performance AGM Battery - 94R/H7 for my Prestige A6

Conventional lead acid batteries use lead alloys with additives which increase the strength so they can withstand handling during the battery making process. The downside of using these alloys and additives is that the batteries suffer from faster corrosion and component aging. NorthStar's advanced manufacturing process eliminates the need for these alloys and additives - their pure lead plates can be made thinner and larger, which means more surface area for active material reactions, which increases power density. This is why NorthStar batteries deliver superior cranking, unrivaled cycling, faster recharge, high vibration resistance, longer life with minimal maintenance and virtually no internal grid growth. Unlike conventional batteries, NorthStar batteries never experience catastrophic failures.

    Key Benefits:
Pure lead AGM technology delivers exceptional CCA ratings and reserve capacity cycling ability
    Quick starting every time
Cycles over 900 times to 50% depth of discharge
    Faster recharge than conventional batteries
Proudly made in the USA at our state-of-the-art battery plant
OEM fit is ensured - built to exact BCI standards
Housed in advanced plastics for durability performance and heat resistance
Advanced AGM construction means no water levels to check or terminals to clean
Approved as non-hazardous cargo for ground sea and air transport DOT 49CFR173.159(d), (i) and (ii)

    Specs:
    Terminal Configuration: SAE
    Pulse Cranking Amps: 1430 A
    CCA Rating at -18°C (0°F): 840 A
    CA/MCA rating at 0°C (32°F): 990 A
    Reserve Capacity: 158 min
    Capacity - 20 hour rate (1.75 vpc): 76 Ah
    Short Circuit Current: 2400 A
    Warranty: 4 years full
    Height: 7.42 in
    Width: 6.87 in
    Length: 12.37 in
    Weight: 57 lbs

I noticed that electronics were acting funny. I viewed my battery status on passive low via obd11. Then I went out to the local store and got this one. Rescanned, got the green light, and everything works.Attachment 111442

No problem my dude! Just ask and I'll try my best to give you the info I know. I was very wary of the whole process as this is my first audi I'm trying my best to DIY. This is a OEM moll h8(orh9) 850a 110ah with a bem code located under the spare. Unless your car is going into electronic cataclysmic distress lol no need to worry about that code! Just go for the most powerful agm battery(cca) with the closest ah also!20190110_103939.jpeg

dorothy, have you had any charging issues as it looks like you switched from a flooded cell to an AGM?
I'm genuinely curious as I thought I read switching may be problematic since the charging system may not be compatible with AGM or may need the full recode to indicate an AGM battery has been installed.
    Thanks.

No issues at all. B4 my keyless entry the mmi system dashboard and more was super slow turning on since my car hasn't had a battery change in almost 6yrs. I always check to the battery states. So far so good!

I switched from the same OEM flooded cell (110AH) to a Duracell SLI95RAGM AGM 105AH 1050CCA a few month ago. Just changed the serial number. No issues.

Fyi, the OEM battery in the car depends on where the car was purchased!
