    Bosch vs. Valeo Alternator

Swapping out the alternator in my '01.5, which has a Bosch. I purchased the Valeo alternator from ECS listed as "for Bosch cars". My pulley however does not match what I received (which is accurate from ECS photos). Curious what needs to happen, as I know the difference between the two has always been the pulley. I'd rather not deal with swapping between if I can, they seem to mount differently. The pulley on the new unit looks smaller, so I thought maybe the belt is smaller. But I did not see any difference between the belt options.

Mine came with a black pulley though. I bought it from FCP. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...20a-078903016h

I just ended up installing it, no issues. If I have to swap another alternator on the 2.7 in my life it will be too soon.

    Just a different style pulley.
    Also after you’ve done the
    alternator once you’ll be able
to do it under 2-3 the next time
around. It’s not as bad as it
    seems.
