RS7 Wheels; Any Issue With +25 Offset?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am hunting around for wheels for the RS7. Currently have the 21x9 5 blades with brand new 275/30/21 4S, so I'm not looking to go much wider as I want to reuse the tires. 275 is too stretched on a 10.5, so I'm sort of stuck with 9".

I'm not having the most success finding the exact same offset. I found a set of 21x9 et25 I liked and the supplier said the 10mm difference in offset isn't a big deal. I called and talked with my local Audi service advisor and he said something that "aggressive" might lead to premature wheel bearing failure. Now he's got me worried.

I suppose another option if I can't find et35 would be to get something the other way, like a 38-45 and doing spacers. I know we have the lug bolts, so then there's that to consider. Or just give in and buy 10.5 with some wider tires; first world problems.

What's the max deemed safe to run on our cars? I wouldn't mind the wheel poking out just a tad more but don't want suspension components failing on me either. This is beyond my realm of automotive knowledge.

    Thanks guys.

While I dont have a RS7, I can tell you that I run 20x10.5 et25 BBS CH-Rs on 255/35/20 pilot super sports. This is on a B8.5 Allroad. Now your SA could be right telling you that this could lead to premature wheel bearing failure. I'm on bags and SPC adjustable upper control arms and have had no issues.

Think you read that funny, I know they're 21x9. It says 21x9 5 blades not 21x9.5.

Thanks all! Feeling better about this.

I think I'm set on some Vertini wheels I found yesterday. They custom make the offset so I was thinking of going 21x9 et25. I was looking at my car in the garage yesterday and the stock wheels are tucked in pretty far. That extra offset will look fantastic.

As long as you stick to the 275 30 21 tyre size you will be fine. I had 15mm spacers all round on my ET33 wheels (making it ET18 equivalent) and all was fine.

After much back and forth, finally ordered wheels!

I wanted the Vertini RF1.2 in 21x9. Asked for 30 offset, brushed titanium. Shop called Vertini to order, and they said they quit making the 21's in brushed titanium and I'd need 28 offset to clear the calipers. So we ended up doing 25 offset in brushed silver, and they'll do a double dark tint powdercoat.

    Gonna be sexy!

Who did you order from? I'm still shopping for a set of wheels to replace my Niche Misanos.

I will attest to the bearings wearing out with aggressive wheels. I don't think it was *just* the aggressive wheels though as we don't have the best roads here either. Both my fronts had to be replaced at 18k miles.

The Niche Misano M116 in gunmetal were my first choice! They quit making those as well.

I got them from John and Jason over at GetYourWheels. Both very professional and coached me through making sure this was the right call.
